About No-Gi Grappling in Action

In No-Gi, you cannot rely on the friction of a uniform to hide mistakes. Everything moves faster, and if you do not secure your grips or control the angle, your opponent will immediately capitalize on the sweat and speed. It forces you to refine your timing, making it the most honest test of your grappling control.

The No-Gi Difference

Without the heavy cotton Gi, the game changes entirely. Friction disappears. You have to focus on wrestling, arm drags, and scramble-heavy transitions. It is faster, more chaotic, and mimics the reality of a self-defense situation or an MMA fight where there are no lapels to grab.

Our Approach: Rato Mat Yaar

We do not believe in mindless repetition. Whether we are drilling the Iminari roll or perfecting Ashi Garami leg entanglements, the goal is conceptual understanding. You need to know why a specific weight distribution breaks an opponent's posture. When you understand the mechanics, you stop fighting strength with strength. We teach you to dismantle resistance, not just wrestle it.

What Happens in a Session?

Classes at our Noida, Faridabad, and Saket centers follow a strict structure. We start with specific technical instruction—breaking down a pass or a submission—followed by positional sparring. This is where you test the move against a resisting partner. Finally, we move to live rolling. This is where your ego gets checked. You will tap, you will sweat, and you will learn.

Essential Gear

Since we do not use the Gi, you need a functional rashguard and fight shorts. Keep your nails trimmed and bring a positive attitude. The mat is the great equalizer here. Whether you are a complete beginner or an experienced grappler, you will find partners at your level to push you. Iron sharpens iron.
