This is the first thing you see, a snapshot of our world at Crosstrain. It’s about more than just fighting. It’s about finding balance, pushing your limits, and belonging to a tribe that has your back, every step of the way. This is why we train.
The Belt Journey: Promotions & Traditions
In Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, belts are never given, they are earned through years of consistent training, sweat, and dedication. We celebrate every single promotion as a major milestone, often with our infamous but cherished tradition, the "gauntlet".
Competition Team: Forging Champions
If you want to test your skills, our competition team is for you. We regularly compete and succeed at major national and international tournaments like the ADCC and AJP Tours, bringing home medals and valuable experience. Iron sharpens iron, and competition is the ultimate test.
No-Gi Grappling in Action
This is our faster, more dynamic style of ground fighting, done without the traditional Gi uniform. We focus on wrestling-based takedowns, scrambles, and submissions that are highly effective for both self-defense and MMA. Classes involve technical drilling, positional sparring, and live rolling.
The Art of Gi Jiu-Jitsu
Often called "human chess," Gi Jiu-Jitsu is the traditional form of BJJ where you use the uniform, or Gi, to grip, control, and submit your opponent. Our classes cover everything from fundamental movements and concepts for beginners to advanced strategies for experienced practitioners.
Our Tribe: The Crosstrain Community
We are more than just a gym, we are a tribe. "Iron sharpens iron" is our philosophy, and we live it every day by pushing each other to be better on and off the mats. We are a diverse community of individuals from all backgrounds, united by respect and a passion for martial arts.
Coaching & Philosophy
We believe martial arts is a path to balance and self-discovery. Our coaching style reflects this, focusing on understanding the 'why' behind every technique, not just memorizing the 'how'. As I always say, *Rato mat yaar, cheezein samjho bas* (Don't just memorize, understand the concepts).
