Belts in BJJ are never given, they are earned through years of showing up and grinding on these mats. Every promotion here is a milestone we celebrate together!

A brown belt in BJJ can take a decade. This moment, 12 years in the making, is what our journey is all about. We celebrate every promotion because we know the discipline and resilience it takes to get there.

Welcome to the gauntlet. It’s a Crosstrain tradition where you walk the line and your teammates celebrate your new belt. It hurts, but it’s a sign of respect for the hard road you’ve traveled.

After three years of consistent hard work, we awarded a well deserved blue belt. This is the first major step in the BJJ journey, and we couldn't be prouder.

A proud moment as another dedicated student earns his blue belt after three years of consistent training and competing. Each belt promotion is a testament to the student's commitment.

"Consistency is the key." This is what we preach. Another student earns his blue belt, a recognition of his dedication and growth on the mats. This is what Crosstrain is all about, building community and celebrating progress.

Two years of dedication, and now a blue belt. This promotion is a huge milestone, marking the transition from beginner to a practitioner with a solid foundation in Jiu-Jitsu.

So proud of our coach Sunil for earning his Purple Belt. He has been a cornerstone of our Noida academy, showing up as both a competitor and a coach. This is a huge step in his BJJ journey.

A huge moment for the club as our head coach, Sid, is promoted to black belt. This represents the pinnacle of the Jiu-Jitsu journey and inspires our entire team to keep grinding.

Our coach from the Noida academy with his new, well earned purple belt. His journey inspires everyone at the gym.

Two of our dedicated members celebrating a purple belt promotion. The smiles say it all.

About The Belt Journey: Promotions & Traditions

You might see us forming a line to strike someone with belts after a promotion. This is the gauntlet, a tradition that hurts a little but shows massive respect for the hard road our teammate just traveled. It is how we welcome you to the next level of the journey.

Jiu-Jitsu is a marathon, not a sprint. We often see people quit when the initial excitement fades, but the ones who stay are the ones who change. A blue belt takes at least two to three years of consistent, daily training. Brown and black belts can take a decade or more. We do not shortcut this process.

It is not just about the belt color. It is about the transformation. When you step on the mats, you leave your ego at the door. You learn to handle discomfort, refine your technique, and become a part of our tribe. Rato mat yaar, cheezein samjho bas (Don't memorize, understand). We focus on concept-based coaching because a move is useless if you do not know why or when to use it.

Whether it is your first stripe or a major belt promotion, every step forward is a victory for the entire community. We are here to push you, hold you accountable, and make sure that when you finally earn that promotion, you have absolutely earned every single thread of it.
