Inside Troop HQ: Our Dedicated Movement Studio in Domlur

I didn't want another gym filled with rows of machines. I wanted a home for movement. This space in Domlur was designed piece by piece to support the way we actually train, from gymnastics rings to mobility rigs, without the noise and clutter of commercial fitness centers.

A new chapter beginning. This was taken during the construction of Troop HQ. It's amazing to see the vision starting to take shape.

The countdown has begun. This was 10 days before we opened our doors, with the flooring just being rolled out. The excitement was real.

The space during the build-out phase. Laying the foundation, literally, for our home for movement.

Setting up the gymnastics rings. These are a core part of our training philosophy, so getting them just right was essential.

The calm before the storm. The empty studio space, filled with morning light, waiting for our community to bring it to life.

Build consistency everywhere, the gym is just the start. A view of the completed studio, a space designed to inspire movement.

Dreams do come true. This video captures my first full training session in my new home, Troop HQ. It felt surreal to finally train in a space designed for our approach to fitness.

About this collection

Every square foot of this studio is intentional. When I laid out the floor plan, I prioritized the space under the gymnastics rigs and the clearance for mobility work over adding more weight racks. You won't find a packed room here; I cap our group sessions at six members per slot specifically so the equipment remains accessible and the floor space stays open for the drills that actually matter.

Why I Built Troop HQ

Building this studio wasn't about creating an aesthetically perfect space. It was about solving a problem I faced for years as an athlete—trying to practice calisthenics in commercial gyms where the pull-up bars were unstable, the floor space was constantly blocked, and the environment felt more like a distraction than a place to work.

Functional Design for Real Work

We designed the studio in Domlur to handle the specific demands of bodyweight and mobility training.

  • The Rig: It is bolted for heavy gymnastics work, not just casual hanging.
  • The Flooring: We chose dense, stable mats that provide feedback for balance work, which is critical when you are learning a handstand or working on weighted mobility drills.
  • The Atmosphere: The environment is quiet enough to focus on proprioception during complex movements, but structured enough to get a high-intensity strength session in without waiting for equipment.

More Than a Gym

This space is for people who treat training as a skill, not just a way to burn calories. Whether you are using the wooden rings, the parallettes, or the barbells, the design reflects my philosophy: build strength that lasts, prioritize mobility, and cut out the noise. When you train here, you are training in a space where the equipment and layout are there to serve your progress, not just to fill a room.

I’m Anuj. I spent years training in commercial gyms before realizing I needed a different environment to master skills like handstands and ring work. I built this place to be the studio I wish I had when I started—simple, functional, and distraction-free.
