About Live Performances and Cultural Shows
Where Stories Jump Off the Shelf
We aren't just a bookstore - we're a spot where stories get loud, funny, moving, and sometimes a bit noisy. Our new auditorium is more cozy adda (hangout) than big hall. With 100 seats, you’re never far from the stage, and you can feel every bit of the galatta (commotion) when the artists get going.
What You’ll Find Here
Every day feels different. Some days, it’s a storytelling session about forgotten legends or travel tales. Other days, you’ll catch a laughter-filled comedy act, or stand amazed during a magician’s show. If you’re into music, we host soulful Ghazals, Sufi evenings, and Indian classical dance recitals. Our open mic poetry nights get folks sharing verses in Kannada, Tamil, Hindi, and English - and you might just want to join in.
If you’ve got kids or want to bring your grandparents, no worries. We run family-friendly theatre events, puppetry, and even host talent hunts for those above 50. You’ll find events for everyone, whether you want to sit back or get involved.
This Is Your Space Too
Some shows need tickets, some are free, and a few let you pay what you want. For us, it’s about people coming together, enjoying an intimate performance space, and finding their community. You don’t have to dress up or know the stories - just show up and let the stories do their thing.

My Story
Started as a bookstore, but I got itchy feet. Atta Galatta means a bit of chaos, and I love it that way. Not just books here, but stories being made—queer circles, tote-bag printing, paati-thatha tales, Chittara folk art, chai at the tea fest. I’m more about people meeting, sharing, and making a mess together. It’s community, not just commerce. That’s my thing.
