About Creative and Wellness Workshops
Why We Do What We Do
At Atta Galatta, our space is all about that creative galatta (fun chaos) - it's never just about books. The workshops here are for anyone who wants to try something hands-on, connect with others, or just pause for a bit.
What Happens Here
- We run Indian folk art workshops like Chittara and Madhubani, where old-school stories come alive in colours. No experience? No problem.
- Pottery, macramé, coaster painting - if you like getting your hands messy or just want to zone out and create, this is your spot.
- Not everything is serious - sometimes it’s just doodling, painting sunsets, or jazzing up an old denim jacket. It’s about having a go, not making it perfect.
Wellness, but Make it Real
Sometimes you need a breather. Our art therapy sessions are about using journaling or sketching to check in with yourself, not impress anyone. There are also mindful group activities like meditation, dance-yoga, and psychologist-led circles where you can talk freely. No fancy jargon, just a safe place to be.
Find Your People
Writing is big here - from creative writing circles to screenplay and even those niche, bold topics you don't find everywhere. Whether you want to start, go deeper, or just hang with fellow writers, you’ll find your crowd.
Who Shows Up
Everyone’s welcome - kids, teens, introverts, and communities like Pride. We handle the supplies, you bring your curiosity. No pressure, no judgment, just genuine vibes.

My Story
Started as a bookstore, but I got itchy feet. Atta Galatta means a bit of chaos, and I love it that way. Not just books here, but stories being made—queer circles, tote-bag printing, paati-thatha tales, Chittara folk art, chai at the tea fest. I’m more about people meeting, sharing, and making a mess together. It’s community, not just commerce. That’s my thing.
