Live Music & Dance Performances in Indiranagar
Step into our cozy 100-seater auditorium where art isn't just performed—it’s shared. From classical dance and Sufi evenings to spontaneous community choirs, experience live music up close.
'Dances of Universal Peace' is a collective practice that blends singing, live music, and guided meditative movement. It's a celebration of oneness where no prior singing or dancing experience is required.
'The Strangers’ Choir' is a unique pop-up choir where people who have never sung together before create a song in one morning. It's about spontaneous harmony and the magic of shared music.
We host classical dance events like 'Mohiniyattam X', featuring the city's finest Mohiniyattam school, Taamara. These events include storytelling, interactive demos, and soulful performances.
About Melodies & Rhythms: Music & Dance
We keep our auditorium intimate with just 100 seats, ensuring you’re always close to the artists. Whether it’s a Mohiniyattam recital or a spontaneous pop-up choir, the atmosphere is informal—don't be surprised if the performer invites you to ask questions, discuss the history behind a piece, or join the session.
At Atta Galatta, we believe music and dance shouldn't be confined to a distant stage. When you join us in our Indiranagar space, you aren't just an audience member; you're part of the room.
Why Our Space is Different
We designed our auditorium to feel like a cozy extension of our bookstore. With a 100-person capacity, the sound is natural and the interaction is real. You can see the intricate footwork of a Bharatanatyam dancer or hear the nuances of a Ghazal without needing a microphone to bridge the gap.
What We Host
Our calendar is as diverse as the community we serve.
- Classical Arts: We host regular lec-dems (lecture-demonstrations) for Carnatic music, Mohiniyattam, and Hindustani vocals, where artists break down the 'why' and 'how' of their craft.
- Experimental & Spontaneous: From the 'Strangers' Choir' where random people create harmony in a few hours, to 'Dances of Universal Peace' which focuses on meditative movement, we value participation over performance perfection.
- Interactive Formats: Many of our events include post-show Q&As, where you can speak directly to the performers, learn about their training, or participate in hands-on activities like souvenir-making related to the performance.
Whether you are a trained dancer looking for a supportive stage or someone who just wants to spend an evening listening to soulful music, there is a seat for you here. We don't ask for a dress code or prior knowledge—just come as you are.
