About Kids' Literary Events & Workshops
More Than Books - Building a Reading Tribe
I want kids to see stories as more than just words on a page. At Kahaani Box, our events and workshops aren't just add-ons - they're the real heart of our library. We create a lively space for kids and families to connect, share, and celebrate stories together.
What Happens Here
- We run alag-alag (all sorts of) events all year, online and at our Bengaluru branches.
- Kids meet their favourite authors and illustrators in cozy author interaction sessions for kids. They get to ask questions, hear behind-the-scenes stories, and sometimes get their books signed.
- Storytelling events for young readers aren’t just reading aloud - think theatre, music, props, and pure magic. From mythological tales to Julia Donaldson classics, kids see stories come alive.
- Our creative writing workshops for children help kids find their unique voice. We also mix story themes with art, comic strip making, Dot Mandala, and even theatre camps.
- Book clubs are big here, including a free monthly Kannada Book Club. Kids dig deep into stories, share their thoughts, and sometimes chat with the author.
- Festivals, quizzes, and special events like the Harry Potter quiz or Kahaani Box Utsava (our big festival) bring everyone together.
Family Friendly
Parents join in too - many sessions are made for the whole family. Sometimes you’ll learn Indian Sign Language or get messy with crafts alongside your child.
How You Join
Events happen at our Akshayanagar, JP Nagar, and Electronic City libraries, plus plenty online. To be honest, juggling all this is pura juggle hai (a real balancing act), but we keep things simple so more kids can join in the fun.

My Story
Folks call us the book dragons at Kahaani Box, and honestly, that fits. Our founder’s been book-obsessed since before she could walk - legend says her mom craved bookstores, not samosas! Started with a tiny apartment library, now we’ve got three branches and 2,000+ readers. We’re all about kids diving into stories, meeting authors, and getting hooked on fiction. Certified book hoarders? Guilty as charged.
