About Our Flagship Festivals
It is one thing to read a book, but entirely another to be in a room with hundreds of people hanging on every word of a poem or watching a child discover the magic of a puppet show. When we host a festival, the energy changes—the venue fills with conversations, and our Indiranagar space turns into a hub where strangers become friends over a shared love for stories.
For us, a festival is not just about the schedule or the guest list. It is about the 'galatta'—the beautiful, noisy chaos of people meeting, sharing, and making a mess together.
The Bengaluru Poetry Festival
Every year, we transform the Indiranagar Sangeetha Sabha into a sanctuary for words. We move beyond the bookstore to a 600-seater auditorium where the magic happens. You will find everything here: panel discussions on love and city songs, soul-stirring Ghazals, and multilingual poetry performances that span English, Hindi, and Urdu. We intentionally keep the programming accessible, running parallel Children's Fests where little ones can enjoy puppetry, storytelling, and drawing while parents attend the main sessions.
Kovai Bookalatta
This is our labor of love for the next generation of readers. We take the spirit of our Bengaluru bookstore to Coimbatore, working with local schools to create a literary wonderland. It is a festival where parents, teachers, and children meet authors, participate in hands-on workshops, and see books come to life outside of the classroom.
Whether you are looking to debate with fellow readers or just want to introduce your kids to the world of storytelling, our festivals are designed as open spaces. There are no dress codes and no entry requirements—just show up as you are. Join us to find your community and perhaps a new favorite poet.
Atta Galatta
We started as a bookstore, but we have always been about the stories people make when they are together. I am just a person who loves to host, and my space is built for anyone looking to connect through art, literature, or a simple cup of chai.
