At Atta Galatta, books are just the start. Whether it’s a weekend storytelling session, a theatre workshop, or a treasure hunt, I’m here to give your little ones—and you—a space to play, imagine, and meet new friends.

'Rupa Day' is a celebration for all ages. We fill the day with storytelling, comic-making, and other joyful activities, bringing families together for a festival of reading.

Here is a glimpse of the energy and fun from our 'Dum Dama Dum' Children's Theatre and Reading Festival. It is a day of pure magic, curated to bring the best of drama and literature to children and families.

The excitement is real. This is the moment the doors open for our 'Dum Dama Dum' festival, with kids and parents eagerly waiting to dive into a day of theatre, stories, and fun.

Storyteller Priya Muthukumar brings the hilarious tales of 'Moongphali' to life. Our storytelling sessions are often paired with fun craft activities, making it an engaging experience for kids.

Let's go on an adventure with Hanuman. We host interactive treasure hunts and story sessions with Aparna Jaishankar that are full of puzzles, games, and rambunctious fun for our tiny detectives.

Celebrating the special bond between generations. 'Letters to Dadu' is a heartwarming storytime with author Aprajita Singh that brings the joy of holidays with grandparents to life.

Karukku Norukku. We love bringing regional stories and sounds to our stage. This fun storytime with Saritha Rao, in partnership with Karadi Tales, is about the mischief that happens over a bag of murukku.

A special invitation from Janaki Sabesh for a storytelling session celebrating thathas and paatis. We encourage children to bring a memory or an object from their grandparents to share.

'Of Paatis and Thathas: Time Travel Treasures' is an interactive session with Janaki Sabesh. It is a beautiful celebration of the special bond between children and their grandparents, filled with love and nostalgia.

A tale of courage and friendship. We host interactive sessions with authors like Ranjeeta Raam, whose book 'If Elephants Could Talk' is a moving story perfect for young readers.

About For the Little Readers: Kids & Family Fun

Don't worry about keeping the kids quiet here. Whether it's a 'Dum Dama Dum' theatre festival or a Saturday morning story session, the point is to engage, laugh, and maybe even get a little messy. Most sessions are open-entry, but some require a quick registration or ticket on BookMyShow, so check the event schedule before you head out.

More Than Just a Bookstore

I believe in stories that breathe, and that happens best when kids, parents, and grandparents are all in the room together. My performance floor isn't for passive watching; it is for participating. When we host a session like 'Letters to Dadu' or a treasure hunt, the goal is to bridge the gap between generations.

What to Expect

  • Interactive Storytelling: From Kamishibai paper theatre to tales of Hoysala kings, I partner with storytellers like Janaki Sabesh and Aparna Jaishankar to bring narratives to life, not just read them.
  • Theatre & Movement: Festivals like 'Dum Dama Dum' turn the space into a hub of drama and play. We don't just sit; we act, we craft, and we explore.
  • No Age Barriers: Whether you are a toddler, a curious teen, or a senior looking to share a story, my space is designed for everyone.

Tips for Parents

  • Come as you are: You don't need to dress up or pretend. Just bring yourself and your curiosity.
  • Book ahead: While we love spontaneous visitors, popular workshops and author launches often fill up. Check our latest event updates to see if a ticket is required.
  • Stay for the community: After the event, stay back, browse the shelves, or grab a coffee. Many of my best community connections are made in the moments after the show ends.

I'm not your typical quiet library—I’m a stage for stories, laughter, and a bit of controlled chaos. I love hosting curious kids, eager parents, and grandparents who want to share a memory or two over a good book. Come as you are, and let’s make some stories together.
