Creative Workshops and Events for Children in Kengeri

About For Our Younger Audience
Our children’s events are designed for active participation rather than passive observation. Whether it is a theatre workshop or a reading session, expect a bit of delightful chaos as kids jump in to paint, play, or act. If you are bringing younger children, we encourage parents to stay close and join the fun, as our sessions are as much about building a community of parents and kids as they are about the activity itself.
How We Approach Kids' Activities
We don't do rigid, classroom-style instruction. At Koota, we look at every session—whether it’s a math game at the Kambipura Government School or a book reading in our library—as an opportunity for kids to connect with their peers and their surroundings. Our goal is to make art, literature, and math feel approachable and exciting.
What to Expect at a Workshop
- Small Batches: We keep our numbers small so every child gets space to speak, ask questions, and finish their project without feeling rushed.
- Material Support: We provide all the basics. If it’s a painting workshop, the canvas and brushes are ready. If it’s a storytelling session, the beanbags are fluffed and the books are laid out. Just bring your child and an open mind.
- Inclusive Learning: We open our doors to kids from all backgrounds. Our 'Makkala Masti' programme is a testament to this—bringing together children to learn English, math, and art in a way that feels like playtime rather than homework.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do parents need to stay for the duration? It depends on the age group and the specific activity. For our younger toddler groups, we love having parents participate. For older children, you are welcome to relax in our library or grab a coffee in the courtyard while the session is in progress.
What if my child has never done this before? Perfect. Most of our workshops are designed for first-timers. We want to take away the pressure of 'getting it right' and replace it with the joy of making something new.
Courtyard Koota
We are a collective of storytellers, artists, and friends, and we believe a space should be as curious as the people who walk through it. We aren't a classroom; we are a living room for the community. When we host events for children, we just want to spark that same curiosity we keep alive in ourselves.
