My Yoga Journey and Teaching Philosophy
Born from a need to serve, my approach to yoga is about real practice for real people. Whether you are in our city studios or at the Ganga in Rishikesh, we focus on ancient discipline, not modern trends.
In this interview for DD Urdu, I discuss the history and importance of yoga, explaining the eight limbs of yoga as laid down by Maharishi Patanjali, from Yam and Niyam to Samadhi.
The journey of Arya Power Yoga was a calling from my 'antaratma'. I explain how caring for my parents and seeing the stress of modern life led me to dedicate my life to sharing the healing power of traditional yoga.
A quick question and answer session on the core principles of yoga. I explain my belief in traditional yoga and how patience is cultivated through holding postures and focusing on the breath.
About My Story & Guiding Philosophy
Many students come to me looking for a certificate, but I teach a practice that starts with 'seva'. My own path began in a small village in Haryana, far from the stress of modern city life, and it took me through years of dedicated learning—from Swami Sivananda’s ashram to traditional schools in Mysore. When you join my academy, you are not just signing up for a class; you are committing to a traditional discipline that emphasizes breathwork, patience, and the eight limbs of yoga.
My philosophy is rooted in the belief that yoga is an 'antaratma' or inner journey, not a fitness routine. My academy, Arya Power Yoga, was born from a realization that modern urban life creates immense stress, and traditional yoga is the most effective remedy.
My teacher training courses (YTTC) reflect this commitment to depth. We avoid the shortcuts common today. Instead, you will learn the foundational 'asanas', the science of 'pranayama', and the history of the 'Patanjali Sutras'. Whether you train with us in New Rajinder Nagar, our commercial space in DLF Phase 5, or during our intensive 5-day residential module by the Ganga in Rishikesh, the focus remains the same: self-discovery.
We cover a range of styles including Power Yoga, Hatha, and Ashtanga Vinyasa Flow. The curriculum is rigorous—designed for those who are ready to put in the work. You will engage with 'Shatkarma' techniques like Jal Neti, study medical anatomy to understand how the body moves, and learn the practical art of adjustments and alignment. This is about building a foundation that stays with you long after the course ends. You will leave not just with a certificate eligible for RYT-300 registration, but with the confidence to guide others through their own 'yatra'.
