About this collection

In Mumbai kitchens, workflow is everything. My designs prioritize the golden triangle, keeping your fridge, sink, and stove within easy reach to make daily cooking faster. I often use overhead cabinets that reach the ceiling to reclaim wasted vertical space, paired with soft-close tandem boxes so your drawers do not slam shut even after years of daily use.

Kitchens in Mumbai need to handle more than just cooking. They are central hubs, often serving as the link to living areas. My approach at AND Designspace is to strip away the unnecessary and focus on what you actually need.

Material Choices

I primarily use BWP (Boiling Water Proof) ply for the carcass because of our humidity levels. For shutters, high-gloss acrylic or PU coatings are my go-to for their durability and ease of cleaning. If you want a textured look, I incorporate metallic or glass elements, but I always ensure the material finish can withstand the heat and oil of daily Indian cooking.

Optimized Layouts

Whether you have a compact 1BHK or a larger apartment, the layout determines the functionality.

  • Galley Kitchens: I focus on continuous counter runs to ensure you do not break your movement while cooking.
  • U-Shaped Kitchens: These offer the most storage. I use every corner, integrating carousel units so nothing gets lost in the back.
  • Open Kitchens: Using a breakfast counter or a serving window helps visually connect the kitchen to your living room, making the space feel larger.

Smart Storage Solutions

The reality of our city is limited floor space. I solve this with full-height pantry pull-outs, dedicated niches for microwaves, and corner storage solutions. If your kitchen layout allows, I recommend a rolling shutter unit to hide away small appliances, keeping your countertop completely clear.

Lighting for Efficiency

General ceiling lights are rarely enough. I install LED strip lights under the overhead cabinets to illuminate your workstation directly. This is not just for aesthetics, it prevents you from working in your own shadow while chopping or washing.

Everything we build is visualized in 3D before we start. You see exactly where the cabinets will land and how the colors will look against your tiles. This ensures no surprises during the build phase.
