Welcoming Entrances & Foyers

About this collection
Your entrance is the first transition into your home, so I design it to manage clutter while ensuring security. I focus on custom safety doors with jali work for airflow and integrated shoe cabinets that make the space functional without making it feel cramped.
Functional Design for Mumbai Entrances
Designing an entrance in a Mumbai apartment requires balancing security, privacy, and space. My approach treats the foyer not just as a passageway, but as a utility space that sets the tone for the rest of the home.
Safety & Security
I design safety doors using reinforced structures and laser-cut MS jali. These panels are functional design elements that allow light and airflow, which is critical for apartment corridors. I finish these with wood-grain or solid laminates that match the main door, ensuring the unit looks cohesive rather than like an afterthought.
Storage Solutions
In compact layouts, the entrance is where clutter builds up. I design floor-to-ceiling shoe cabinets that act as storage and display units. Often, I include a seating ledge with a backlit panel above it. This organizes footwear, provides a spot to sit, and creates a focal point at the entry.
Lighting & Personalization
Lighting is essential for a welcoming entry. I use backlit acrylic nameplates, vertical lighting strips, and recessed spots to highlight textures. I ensure the foyer flooring transitions seamlessly into the living room, often using marble or high-gloss vitrified tiles to maintain visual continuity. By using consistent materials like charcoal sheets, gold-tone accents, and textured laminates, I create a space that feels deliberate and high-end.
