Bala Shivir: Yoga for Young Minds in HSR Layout
We believe childhood is the perfect time to plant the seeds of self-awareness. Our Bala Shivir blends traditional asanas, mindfulness, and storytelling to help children find focus, confidence, and joy.
"His concentration level has improved." A wonderful testimonial from a parent of our Aikia Balashivir. We are so happy to see how the camp helps children develop discipline, positivity, and focus.
"She learnt Hanuman Chalisa which has helped her a lot." Another heartwarming review from our summer camp. We combine yoga with cultural learning, crafts, and chanting to provide a holistic and enriching experience.

Parents and children gathered for the Balashivir convocation. It is a joyous occasion where we come together as a community to celebrate the learning and spiritual growth of our little yogis.

Our Bala Shivir kids chanting the Hanuman Chalisa together. It is beautiful to witness their innocent devotion and focus as they learn and recite these sacred verses as a group.
About this collection
Our Bala Shivir is structured around discipline rather than distraction. We pair every asana session with a moment of silence or cultural storytelling, teaching children that stillness is just as important as movement. This is not a daycare, but a space where children learn to listen to their own breath and find calm in a busy world.
Beyond the Summer Camp
Most summer camps focus on keeping kids busy. At Aikia Yogashala, our goal is different. We focus on building a foundation of values—Sanskār—that stays with the child long after the camp ends. In our HSR Layout studio, we strip away the screens and the noise to introduce kids to the science of yoga.
What We Do Differently
- Intentional Movement: We teach Asanas not just for physical flexibility, but to help children understand how to control their bodies and focus their energy.
- Cultural Roots: Through chanting, like the Hanuman Chalisa, and traditional stories, we help kids connect with their heritage in a way that feels relevant and engaging, not forced.
- Mindfulness & Creativity: Whether it is through Rangoli making, drawing, or simple breathing exercises, we teach kids that creativity and calm are linked. They learn that doing one thing at a time with full attention is a superpower.
- Real Connections: Our camp includes field trips to local temples and community spaces. This helps children practice what they learn in the studio in the real world, fostering empathy, teamwork, and social grace.
Who is this for?
This program is for parents who want their children to develop resilience, emotional intelligence, and a sense of discipline. If you are looking for a place where your child is seen as a young seeker and not just a participant, you have found the right path.
Aikia Yogashala
We are Aikia Yogashala, a family of seekers based in HSR Layout. We stepped away from our corporate lives to create a space dedicated to Dharma, discipline, and authentic human connection. For us, yoga is not a transaction, but a way to live with purpose and awareness.
