Festival and Community Celebrations at Aikia Yogashala
Festivals at Aikia are not rituals but opportunities for our spiritual family to unite through chanting, storytelling, and deep reflection.
A glimpse into our Mahashivratri celebration. The evening was filled with soulful bhajans, enlightening discourse, captivating skits, and the powerful Maha Mrityunjaya Japa, creating a truly transformative atmosphere.
The sacred sound of the Maha Mrityunjaya mantra filling our space during the Mahashivratri celebration. Our community gathered to chant for healing, protection, and to connect with the divine energy of Shiva.
Our altar, beautifully decorated and ready for the Mahashivratri celebrations. The space is charged with devotion as we prepare for a sacred night of mantras, meditation, and mindfulness to honor Lord Shiva.
Offerings of fresh flowers and bilva leaves for our Mahashivratri puja. These simple, natural elements are part of our preparation to honor Shiva and align with his transformative energy.

An invitation to our Mahashivratri celebration. We welcome all seekers to join us for an evening of devotion, wisdom, and transformation, featuring bhajans, talks, skits, and group japa chanting.
A heartfelt thank you to our incredible community of volunteers. Their selfless seva, done with smiles and without expectation, is what makes our Janmashtami celebration so joyous, vibrant, and divine. This is Bhakti in action.
Mesmerizing bhajans being performed during our Janmashtami celebration. Music is a powerful path to devotion, and our kirtans create an atmosphere where everyone can connect with the divine spirit of Krishna.
A moment of deep devotion and stillness during our Janmashtami event. It is in these quiet moments of listening and reflection that we truly connect with the divine presence and the community around us.
Our community gathered for the Janmashtami celebration. We were honored to have our chief guest, K Latha Narasimhamurthy ji, join our spiritual gathering and share in the devotional atmosphere.
About Festival & Community Celebrations
Our community gatherings are fully open to all seekers, regardless of background. We do not just perform a ritual; we host evening satsangs featuring bhajans, skits, and deep talks. Before you join our next festival, reach out if you are curious about the specific theme or if you would like to volunteer, as our seva is what makes these nights come alive.
Why We Celebrate
At Aikia Yogashala, festivals are a continuation of our daily practice. We celebrate days like Mahashivratri and Janmashtami to deepen our understanding of Bhakti yoga. It is not about the grandeur of the setup but the sincerity of the intent. When we gather, we do not just sit; we engage in Maha Mrityunjaya Japa, perform skits based on wisdom, and share meals that are sattvic and simple.
The Role of Seva
Most of our festival preparations, from decorating the altar to managing the floor, are done by our students. This is Seva in action—selfless service. It is how we practice Karma Phala Tyaga, the renunciation of the fruits of action. If you have ever wanted to experience how a spiritual community functions behind the scenes, these celebrations are the perfect entry point.
What to Expect
- Inclusivity: All our events are open to everyone, whether you are a regular student or someone looking for a spiritual connection for the first time.
- Depth: We move beyond surface-level celebrations. Expect music, discourse on the Gita, and silence.
- Community: These are times to meet fellow sadhaks, share stories, and build bonds that go beyond the mat.
If you are in HSR Layout and seeking a space that respects tradition while keeping it real, join us for our next evening gathering.
