Dance does not stop at the studio door. From the banks of the Elbow River to stages in Canada, my travels are where I find the rhythm for my next piece.

Finding a moment to connect with nature at the Elbow River in Calgary. The beauty of the natural world is a constant source of inspiration for my art, even when I am far from home.

Striking a dance pose amidst the beautiful fall colors in Alberta, Canada. Dance is a part of me, and I often find myself moving and creating even in the most informal settings.

Enjoying the sun and the clear water in Calgary. Traveling for performances and workshops allows me to experience new landscapes and cultures, which enriches my perspective as an artist.

About Art & Travels

People often ask if I take time off to travel. The truth is, I carry my ghungroos everywhere. Whether it is a studio in Bangalore or a quiet riverbank in Alberta, I am constantly observing movement in the natural world. This practice helps me bring a raw, un-sanitized quality to my choreography, moving away from repetitive patterns toward something that feels alive.

The intersection of travel and Bharatanatyam is where I find my creative fuel. When I am away from my regular routine at Punyah Dance Company, my eyes shift from perfecting angles to observing the rhythm of the environment. In Alberta, the vast landscapes offered a different stillness compared to the buzz of Bengaluru, and that stillness often dictates the pace of my abhinaya. My choreography is not just about technical mastery or perfecting lines; it is about grounding the story in real emotion. When I work on custom repertoires for students or build large-scale productions, I bring these global perspectives back to the classroom. If you are looking for choreography that breaks away from standard, monotonous templates, let us connect. I teach and choreograph not by repeating old patterns, but by finding new ways to tell ancient stories, whether you are a soloist preparing for an arangetram or a group looking for a fresh rhythmic structure.

I am Adithya. I spend my days between rehearsals, travel, and food hunts, always keeping my dance grounded in real life. If you see me moving, know that it comes from a space of genuine curiosity, not just training.
