Community Yoga Events & Nature Retreats
Yoga is meant to be shared. From tree plantation drives at HSR Lake to overnight nature retreats near Skandagiri, we create intentional spaces to practice, connect, and grow together.
This year, our annual charity gathering is going green. We invite you to join us for a morning yoga session led by a senior teacher, followed by a community tree plantation drive. Let's move with intention and plant with purpose.
Join us for a soulful morning in Bangalore where we move, breathe, and plant together. This is an opportunity to make a difference for your body and the planet, connecting with our community in a meaningful way.
From breath to bark, and balance to branches, our practice evolves with purpose. This event combines a grounding yoga session with a tree planting drive, allowing you to start with stillness and end with action.
What if the most powerful thing you did this year had roots? Talking about change is not enough. We believe in being part of the solution, together. Join our community as we take real steps to care for our environment.
For International Day of Yoga, we hosted an immersive experience starting with Shatkarma (Jal Neti cleansing), followed by Asana, Pranayama, and Yoga Nidra. This is how we explore the deeper, more magical aspects of this science.
Our annual Yoga in the Park session is a celebration of community and nature. We invite everyone to join us in Cubbon Park for an energizing morning under the trees. It's an open session, so bring your friends and family.
A glimpse of our Yoga in the Park 2024 event, where our community came together to practice in a circle of shared energy. This is one of our favorite ways to celebrate International Day of Yoga.
About this collection
When we move our practice outdoors, like at Cubbon Park or our Skandagiri retreats, we remove the artificial environment of a standard studio. You will be working with uneven surfaces and open air, which naturally demands more core stability and presence than a flat, indoor floor. It is a challenge, but it forces you to adapt your alignment in real-time, bringing a practical, rugged edge to your usual asana practice.
Why We Practice in Community
Yoga is often treated as a solitary endeavor, but our philosophy holds that collective energy can act as a catalyst for individual growth. When we gather for community events—whether it is an early morning session at Cubbon Park, an overnight glamping retreat near Nandi Hills, or a tree plantation drive—we are not just doing exercises. We are practicing the discipline of showing up, regardless of the conditions.
What to Expect
These sessions are distinct from our standard studio classes in a few key ways:
- Adapting to Nature: Practicing on the ground at Skandagiri or under the trees at HSR Layout requires you to adjust your balance. You lose the luxury of wall ropes or stable wooden floors, which highlights where your practice truly relies on your own strength versus environmental support.
- Purpose Beyond the Mat: We believe yoga should extend into the world. Our charity events and plantation drives are about taking the stillness you find during meditation and using it to fuel real-world action. It is about understanding that your practice affects your community and your environment.
- Deepening Connections: Retreats are structured to allow for more than just physical movement. You will have time for meditation, journaling, and group discussions around the bonfire. These moments of quiet and conversation help bridge the gap between advanced philosophical concepts and your daily life.
Who Should Join
There is no requirement for perfect flexibility here. Whether you are a beginner looking to understand the practice better or a regular student wanting to deepen your alignment, these events are designed to be accessible. We keep our group sizes intimate to ensure our senior teachers can provide proper cues and adjustments, so you leave feeling that you have actually learned something, not just worked up a sweat.
Absolute Yoga
We started Absolute Yoga in 2017 because we wanted a space where anyone could walk in and feel at home. Whether we are hosting a marathon of Surya Namaskars or guiding you through an overnight retreat, our focus is on building consistency in your body and your community.
