Explore wellness beyond the asana. From deep-release Yin Yoga to traditional Mudgar and somatic practices, find a workshop that grounds your body and clears your mind.

Our instructor explains the philosophy behind Yin Yoga. It's a practice that helps release suppressed emotions stored as tension, allowing us to return to our natural state of lightness and joy.

To be light is our natural state. This video explains how the stillness of Yin Yoga helps us reconnect with the feeling of a burden being lifted from our shoulders.

A glimpse into a Yin Yoga class, focusing on the Shoelace pose (Padukabandhini Asana). Using bolsters for support, students hold the deep hip-opening stretch to release tension.

Come for a free trial of our Yin Yoga classes. This gentle, meditative practice is perfect for unwinding and de-stressing.

Strengthen, stretch, and find your flow with our Mudgar class, the only one available in South Bangalore. This traditional Indian practice builds core stability and functional upper body strength.

The Aayana community takes the Mudgar practice outdoors to Lalbagh. It's a powerful way to connect with nature, tradition, and each other.

Announcing our "Alexander Technique for Yoga Practitioners" workshop. This session is designed to enhance your breathing and movement efficiency both on and off the mat.

Learn about the Alexander Technique, a revolutionary system for improving posture, coordination, and breathing, with senior teacher Robin Simmons.

Workshop Alert: Fluid Pilates with Deeksha. This unique blend of dance and fitness helps you find your flow while building strength, flexibility, and awareness.

Instructor Deeksha explains the five key reasons to try Fluid Pilates, a practice that blends the artistry of dance with the core principles of fitness for a fun, injury-preventing workout.

About Beyond the Mat: Specialized Wellness Workshops

Whether you are looking to fix posture with the Alexander Technique or build functional strength with our Mudgar sessions, these workshops are capped at 15 students to ensure you get personal guidance. We focus on small-group learning because when it comes to refining movement, having a teacher correct your form makes all the difference.

Our specialized workshops are designed for those who want to go deeper into specific movement patterns, whether you are a complete beginner or a seasoned practitioner. We believe that variety is key to a healthy practice, which is why we offer a range of unique sessions at our Jayanagar studio.

Why Join Our Workshops?

  • Traditional Mudgar: We are proud to host the only Mudgar class in South Bangalore. This practice uses traditional Indian wooden clubs to build functional upper body strength and core stability. It is a fantastic way to break away from routine and build real-world power.
  • Alexander Technique: If you struggle with chronic tension or posture, these sessions offer a scientific approach to body awareness. You will learn to spot and ditch habits that cause strain, making your daily movement smoother.
  • Yin Yoga: In a fast-paced world, our Yin sessions provide the quiet space you need to release deep-seated tension. By holding gentle postures, we help you connect back to your natural state of lightness.
  • Fluid Pilates: A dance-inspired workout that blends the artistic side of ballet and jazz with the structure of Pilates. It is about building strength while having fun and finding your flow.

The Experience

We keep our batch sizes intentionally small, between 10 to 15 students, to maintain a safe and supportive environment. This allows us to provide real-time feedback and alignment corrections, something we feel is crucial for your safety and growth. Whether you are curious about sound bath healing, need a 90-minute deep dive into aerial silks, or just want to join our Friday Bhajans, our space is open to anyone willing to try. You do not need to be flexible or have a certain body type to start; you just need to show up.
