I don't just put you in front of a heavy bag. We break down your stance, your hip rotation, and the way you throw a hook so you aren't just flailing. Whether we are doing stick-work or intensive striking combos, I am right there correcting your form because efficiency is where the real power comes from.
It Is Not Just Cardio, It Is Combat
Anyone can throw a punch, but learning to throw one correctly without injuring your wrist or shoulder is a skill. My sessions at HSR Fitness World are built on this foundation. We focus on the fundamentals that most commercial gyms ignore: footwork, guard position, and the kinetic chain of a strike.
Impact Training and Technique
We use heavy bags for impact training, which is a world away from air-punching. You need the resistance of the bag to build knuckle conditioning and true muscle memory. In my classes, we rotate between:
- Boxing Fundamentals: Stance, jab-cross combos, and defensive head movement.
- Kickboxing Mechanics: Proper hip rotation for roundhouse kicks and knee strikes.
- Stick-Work Drills: Improving coordination, reflexes, and shoulder mobility for better speed.
