Namaste. If you are struggling with chronic pain, stiffness, or lifestyle conditions like diabetes, know that true healing starts from within. We focus on alignment and therapeutic techniques to help your body recover naturally.

For those managing diabetes, I demonstrate Mandukasana (Frog Pose). This asana, along with Malasana and Vajrasana, can help stimulate the pancreas and improve digestion, offering a natural way to support your health.

A student practices a modified version of Uttana Shishosana (Extended Puppy Pose) using blocks for support. This is part of our medical yoga session, designed to gently open the shoulders and chest while relieving tension in the spine.

Using a yoga wheel for support in Supta Virasana (Reclining Hero Pose). This prop helps safely deepen the backbend, stretching the abdomen and relieving anxiety, making it a powerful tool in our therapeutic classes.

This student is practicing Dandayamana Bharmanasana (Balancing Table Pose). It is an excellent asana for building core strength and improving balance, which is fundamental for overcoming anxiety and building confidence.

In our medical yoga sessions, we use props like this strap to help students achieve proper alignment and deepen stretches safely. Here, an instructor assists a student in a seated forward bend to release hamstring and lower back tension.

A student holds Bhujangasana (Cobra Pose) to strengthen her back and improve spinal flexibility. This pose is excellent for relieving stress and fatigue, and is a key part of our therapeutic sequences for overall wellness.

We use wall ropes, an Iyengar yoga specialty, to help students with shoulder and chest opening. This technique is particularly effective for correcting posture and relieving upper back and cervical tension.

Chair yoga is a fantastic tool in our medical batches. Here, a student uses a chair to support an upper body stretch, allowing her to open her chest and shoulders safely, which is beneficial for respiratory and heart health.

A side view of a student using the wall ropes. This method allows for a deep, supported stretch that helps decompress the spine and improve shoulder mobility, making it accessible even for those with stiffness.

This is a specific setup for severe cervical pain and nerve blockage. Using a chair and bolster, we create a supported backbend that gently releases tension in the neck and upper spine without any strain.

About Medical Yoga for Pain & Chronic Conditions

In our medical batches, we do not simply go through the motions of standard fitness yoga. We use specific Iyengar props like chairs, wall ropes, and bolsters to safely support your body, especially if you are managing chronic cervical pain, back issues, or nerve blockages. This is a controlled, therapeutic practice where I personally adjust your posture to ensure you receive the relief you need without strain.
