Fun and Engaging Kids Yoga Sessions
Movement should be an adventure. I blend traditional yoga poses with storytelling and games to help children build focus, confidence, and flexibility—all while having a blast outdoors or in the studio.
Here I am guiding my students through Bakasana, or Crow Pose. It's amazing to see kids embrace challenges and discover their own strength. My classes are all about safe exploration, building not just physical balance but also the confidence to try new things.
The best part of my day. Seeing these bright, smiling faces after a session fills me with so much gratitude. We work on focus and flexibility, but we also make sure to laugh and celebrate our efforts together.
Finding joy in the practice! This is a fun one-legged squat that challenges balance and stability. I love incorporating playful poses like this to show kids that yoga is all about having fun while connecting with your body.
About Featured
I teach challenging asanas like Bakasana (Crow Pose) by breaking them down into simple animal flows that feel like a game, so children learn physical strength without the pressure of a traditional gym class. By keeping group sizes small, usually five to ten children, I ensure every student receives individual attention and feels celebrated for their unique progress.
How We Practice
My approach to kids yoga is rooted in 'abyhasa'—steady, happy effort. Rather than rigid routines, I use jungle or space-themed narratives to guide children through poses. This storytelling method helps them stay engaged, turning breathwork and balancing exercises into an exciting challenge. Whether we are in a park or at my HSR Layout studio, the goal is always the same: to make yoga feel like play, not a chore.
Benefits Beyond the Mat
Beyond the physical perks like improved coordination and posture, I focus on the 'mind stuff.' Parents often tell me they see a shift in their child's ability to focus and manage distractions after a few sessions. We practice simple Pranayama (breathwork) to help them calm down and find stillness, which is a life skill they can carry off the mat.
My Programs
- In-Studio Trials (HSR Layout): A perfect entry point. We focus on animal flows and basic balancing skills in a safe, air-conditioned environment with wooden flooring.
- Monthly Membership: An eight-class program that builds a consistent peer group. We move from basics to more complex poses like Headstand prep, while also touching on ethics through kid-friendly explanations of Yamas and Niyamas.
- Virtual Sessions: Interactive Zoom classes tailored to a child's attention span, using household items as props to make home practice accessible and fun.
I do not run strict, competitive classes. Instead, I create custom workshops, birthday events, and private group sessions designed around the energy of the kids I am teaching. If you are looking for a way to build your child's confidence and physical health through a non-competitive, supportive practice, let's chat about what fits your family.
