Adventure & Exploration Yoga Retreats
I don't just teach yoga; I take it to the wild. From the mist-covered tea plantations of Munnar to the quiet shores of Periyar, these retreats are for anyone ready to find their flow amidst nature's raw beauty.
The view from a car window during a road trip through Munnar, Kerala. The rolling hills covered in tea plantations, shrouded in mist, create a constantly changing and beautiful landscape.
The serene and slightly haunting beauty of Periyar Lake in Kerala. The dead trees rising from the calm water create a mesmerizing scene, a perfect moment for quiet reflection during our travels.
About Adventure & Exploration
You’ll find me leading these retreats in small, intimate groups rather than large crowds. We mix 90-minute vigorous Ashtanga flows with the raw challenge of a mountain trek or a nature walk, ensuring you get both a serious physical workout and the deep silence you came to find.
These aren't standard resort holidays. I design these experiences for those who feel the pull of the mountains or the rhythm of the tides and want to pair that energy with their yoga practice.
Where We Practice
We move across diverse terrains—from the high-altitude trails of the Himalayas, where the air is crisp and thin, to the tropical forests of Kerala and coastal spots in Bali. Whether we are setting up wooden cottages in the mountains or staying in boutique beachside villas, the goal is always to disconnect from the city noise and re-align with ourselves.
What To Expect
- The Flow: Days usually start with a 90-minute vigorous Ashtanga or Hatha flow to build strength and heat, followed by evening sessions focused on restorative yoga, pranayama (breathwork), or meditation.
- The Nourishment: We eat pure vegetarian, Sattvic meals. In the mountains, this means warm, fueling food; in the tropics, expect fresh smoothie bowls and local produce.
- The Adventure: We balance the mat time with guided treks, cliff walks, and nature excursions. It is about using our bodies in nature—the way we were meant to.
Everything is set up to be accessible. I provide props and variations so you can move at your own pace, regardless of your experience level. You’ll leave with a clearer head, a stronger body, and a few sore muscles to prove you showed up for yourself.
Sharmila Sheoran
I'm Sharmila, and I believe in bending so we don't break. I pair vigorous Ashtanga and Hatha flows with wild treks because I find that true alignment happens when we are completely disconnected from the city noise and reconnected with the earth.
