About Aqua Zumba: A Splash of Fitness
People often ask if water workouts are actually effective. Here is the reality: the water creates natural resistance that sculpts your muscles faster than you think, but because of the buoyancy, your knees and ankles feel zero stress. You get the intensity of a heavy cardio session without the usual post-workout aches.
Why I love the pool
I believe fitness should never feel like a punishment. When you step into the pool at Punjabi Bagh Club, the water does the work for you. You don't need to be a swimmer to join these sessions. We stay in the shallow end where you can stand comfortably, using the water's natural resistance to work your core, arms, and legs.
What to expect in class
My sessions are a hybrid of two worlds:
- Aqua Zumba: We turn up the volume and dance. The water makes every movement feel like you are gliding, but your muscles are working overtime to push against the flow. It is pure mauja hi mauja (loads of fun).
- Aqua Yoga: We slow it down. We use the water for support, allowing you to hold stretches and balance poses that might feel impossible on a dry mat. This part is all about finding your shanti (peace) while you cool down.
Is this for you?
If you have joint pain, are recovering from an injury, or just want a low-impact alternative to high-intensity gym workouts, this is for you. I have students from 18 to 80 years old, and everyone finds their own rhythm. You will walk out feeling energized and light, with a lot less stress than you walked in with. Wear comfortable swimwear, bring your water bottle, and get ready to splash your soul.
