We move beyond basic reading drills. Through interactive stories and vocabulary games, we help your child find the joy in books and the confidence to express what they’ve read.

A Dr. Seuss read-aloud session in full swing! I use engaging voices and ask lots of questions to make reading interactive, which helps build listening skills, comprehension, and vocabulary.

Storytelling is a two-way street. During this read-aloud of "Superworm," I pause to ask the children what they think will happen next, encouraging predictive thinking and active participation.

Sometimes, the most fun happens when we create conversations from a story. This is an impromptu dialogue between two students based on a picture book, helping them practice spontaneous speaking and listening.

One-on-one reading sessions are crucial for assessing individual progress. This dedicated time allows me to address specific needs, fill any learning gaps, and ensure each child feels supported.

We follow up our "Llamas in Pajamas" story time with a fun coloring activity and presentations. This reinforces the story's themes and gives children another way to engage with the material.

Time to get reading! We use fun prompts and games to encourage children to pick up a book and dive into a new adventure, fostering a lifelong love of literature.

About Building a Love for Reading

In our sessions, reading is never a passive activity. When we dive into books, we are not just reciting text. We pause for predictive thinking exercises where we ask your child what happens next. Then we follow up with hands-on activities, like coloring or creating impromptu skits, to ensure the vocabulary and story themes stick long after the session ends.
