From magic dress-up days to Trinity exam triumphs, take a peek at the fun, messy, and rewarding work we do to build confident speakers.

This is what learning with joy looks like. In our "Magic Dress Up Day," we use costumes and props to spark imagination, helping even the shyest children find their voice and build confidence through creative play.

We turn stories into a magical experience with shadow puppets. This activity is fantastic for encouraging teamwork, creative expression, and public speaking as students work together to bring their tales to life.

It's not just about reading the words, it's about presenting them. Here, two of my students demonstrate the fundamental skills we teach for reading aloud, from proper posture to making confident eye contact with the audience.

Our classroom is a space for shared learning. Sitting in a circle for interactive reading sessions helps build a sense of community, encouraging students to ask questions and discuss stories together.

From the page to the stage! Watch as one of my students confidently performs a monologue as the eccentric chocolatier Willy Wonka, showcasing the character development and performance skills we nurture in class.

We make vocabulary building a team sport with our own version of Scrabble. This game is a fun, collaborative way for students to learn new words and practice their spelling in a hands-on way.

Mastering tricky words is a key part of clear communication. In this fun phonology exercise, my students work on the correct pronunciation of commonly mispronounced words, building their diction and clarity.

We celebrate achievements, big and small. Here is one of our Group Drama teams, who not only had fun preparing for their Trinity College exams but also achieved distinctions, with our highest score at 92!

About Featured

Our classroom is rarely quiet; it is a hive of activity where we use props, costumes, and impromptu games to lower the pressure of public speaking. We believe in the power of the 'messy'—if a student is truly engaged while learning diction or sentence structure, the knowledge sticks.
