Master Judo: The Gentle Way to Combat
At Xtrem9, we don't just teach throws, we teach control. Whether you're a beginner learning to fall safely or an athlete perfecting your Ippon, our mats are where you build real strength and discipline.
A perfect Ippon Seoi Nage (one-arm shoulder throw) demonstrated in class. We break down every technique step by step, ensuring our students understand the mechanics of the throw before live practice.
A look inside our Judo class. We start with respect, move to essential drills like Ukemi (break falls) to learn how to fall safely, and then practice both standing and ground techniques.
The first and most important lesson in grappling is how to fall. Our coach guides a young student through the fundamentals of a break fall, building the confidence to train hard and safe.
Movement is key. Our students practice forward rolls (Zempo Kaiten Ukemi) to develop agility and body awareness, which is crucial for both Judo and BJJ.
About Judo - The Gentle Way
We don't believe in skipping the basics. Your first few sessions focus purely on 'Ukemi'—learning how to fall without injury. Once your body knows how to hit the mat safely, we progress to 'Tachi-Waza' (standing techniques) and ground control. It’s not about how strong you are, it’s about using your opponent’s weight and momentum against them, using your 'dimaag' (mind) before brute force.
At Xtrem9, our Judo program is designed for real-world application, whether you are here for fitness, competition, or self-defense. We follow a clear belt system, so your progress is measurable and consistent. Classes are structured, starting with animal-movement warm-ups to build agility, followed by partner-based 'Uchi-komi' drills to build muscle memory.
- The Xtrem9 Approach: We treat the mat as a place of mutual respect. Whether you are in our Ghatkopar or Mira Road facility, the vibe is intense but safe.
- Ground Game (Ne-Waza): When the fight hits the ground, you need to be comfortable. We teach you how to dominate positions and apply submissions with technique, not just power.
- Safe for Everyone: From 3-year-olds learning balance to office professionals looking for a stress buster, our dojo is a level playing field. We emphasize 'break falls' so you can train hard today and be ready for tomorrow.
