My Personal Yoga Practice: Nature & Alignment
Yoga is a lifelong journey of breaking limits. These glimpses show my own exploration of postures in the wild landscapes that inspire my teaching.
Practicing Hurdhvamuka Veerabhadrasana in a quiet green space. Each yoga posture offers a different perspective on life, helping us to understand situations with more clarity and handle them with balance.
Performing an advanced standing split in front of the Adiyogi statue. To be a yogi is to breach the boundaries of the physical and experience a union with everything. This place is a powerful reminder of that goal.
Exploring physical alignment while balancing on the rocks in Hampi. This practice is about creating straight lines and stacking bones to build a stable foundation, both in the posture and in life.
Using the support of a rock in Hampi to deepen a challenging side-body stretch. My practice is about constantly preparing my body and mind to break limitations and discover new abilities.
The flexibility required for this pose on Gokarna beach is a reflection of the mental flexibility yoga cultivates. It is about breaking the rigid barriers in our minds to better understand ourselves and the world.
Holding Samakonasana, the splits, on the summit of Savanadurga. This pose requires immense dedication and practice, and achieving it with this expansive view is a reward that goes beyond the physical.
An advanced backbend in the ocean at Gokarna. The constant motion of the water challenges my stability, forcing me to find a deep inner anchor. This is the essence of the yoga practice.
About My Personal Yoga Practice
My practice is not just about holding a pose. When I balance on the rocks in Hampi or by the ocean, I focus on bone alignment—stacking the joints to create stability. I teach this same technique in my classes so you do not just perform yoga, but understand how to use your body to build a lasting foundation that supports you on and off the mat.
Yoga is often mistaken for just flexibility, but for me, it is about building a foundation that survives the chaos of daily life. Whether it is Samakonasana on the summit of Savanadurga or a backbend in the ocean, my practice is my way of testing my own physical and mental boundaries.
I do not just teach yoga; I facilitate a space where you can find that same connection. Whether we are trekking through Agumbe or holding a session in a quiet Bangalore studio, we focus on three things:
- Alignment: Understanding how to stack bones and create structure, which is vital for long-term health.
- Mental Flexibility: Breaking the rigid barriers in your mind to handle stress better.
- Nature Connection: Using the environment—forests, rivers, hills—to deepen your breath and focus.
When you train with me, we work on these principles together. It is not about perfect form; it is about the transformation you feel afterward. If you are looking to start or deepen your own journey, send me a message and let's talk about which retreat or class fits your goals.
