Yoga is a skill in action, not just a workout. Explore the path that shaped my practice, from national-level training to finding balance in daily life.

I believe in being a lifelong student. Here are some moments from the 3rd National Yogasana Coaches Training Program in Patiala, where I continued to deepen my knowledge as a yoga coach.

Finding opportunities to stretch and move wherever I am. This video shows me using park equipment for some back bending stretches, proving that you can find your yoga practice anywhere.

Yoga can be fun and integrated into any part of your day, even at the workplace. Here I am holding Virabhadrasana III, or Warrior III pose, finding balance and a moment of joy.

A playful moment of practice at my workplace. This seated forward stretch, known as Krounchasana or Heron Pose, is a great way to open the hamstrings.

This pose, a variation of One Legged King Pigeon Pose, reflects my belief that "Yog se aap apne jeevan me sthirta la sakte hai," meaning yoga can bring stability to your life.

In a full split forward bend, or Samakonasana, in front of an Om mural. This pose represents the journey of yoga: a journey of the self, through the self, to the self.

About My Yoga Journey & Credentials

My path in yoga is fueled by the philosophy that Yog se aap apne jeevan me sthirta la sakte hai (Yoga brings stability to your life). It is not merely about holding poses; it is about building self-confidence through hard work and steady practice. Whether I am training at the National Yogasana Coaches program in Patiala or integrating movement into a busy workday, I focus on the discipline behind every movement. This is exactly what I bring to our sessions—a commitment to incremental progress over the pressure of perfection.

A Lifelong Student's Approach

I believe that to be a good teacher, you must remain a student. My journey has taken me from the basics of Ashtanga Vinyasa to becoming a National Yogasana Coach. My training at the 3rd National Yogasana Coaches Training Program at NS NIS, Patiala, under the guidance of experts, was a turning point. It gave me a deeper understanding of anatomy, coaching methodology, and, most importantly, the imperative of safety.

Why My Credentials Matter

Credentials like the Yogasana Bharat National Coach certification are not just titles to me. They represent a responsibility. When we work together, whether for prenatal care or chronic pain relief, you are not just following a video. You are following a routine built on recognized technical standards. I use this knowledge to:

  • Analyze alignment: I break down complex asanas (like Shirsasana or Chakrasana) into manageable steps.
  • Prioritize safety: I identify contraindications early, especially when dealing with injuries or specific health conditions.
  • Adapt to you: I use props, chairs, and walls to make poses accessible regardless of your current flexibility level.

Finding Balance Anywhere

My practice happens everywhere—in parks, at the workplace, and in the studio. I want to show you that yoga is not limited to a mat or a gym. It is a tool for mental and physical stability that fits into your life. If you are looking for a coach who listens, adapts, and prioritizes your long-term health over quick results, I would be happy to discuss your goals.

I’m Urmila, and for me, yoga is simply life. I’ve gone from learning the basics to being a National Yogasana Coach, but the best part is still helping a student finally nail a pose they’ve worked on for months. I’m just a student who loves sharing what I’ve learned.
