The bench press isn't just about pushing weight. Whether you're stuck at a plateau or fixing your arch, I help you refine the mechanics to unlock your true pressing potential.

Pooja hitting a 5kg PR with this 87.5kg bench press at the Asian Open. Her performance shows the importance of maintaining tightness and a solid setup even when feeling under the weather.

Sharvari benching 72.5kg at the British Open. We focus on a controlled eccentric and a powerful press, using leg drive to move maximal weight.

Shweta's 60kg bench press at the Asian Championships. This lift was crucial for securing her overall gold medal, demonstrating smart attempt selection on meet day.

Deepak benching 100kg at the WPC Nationals. A strong arch and tight upper back are key components we drill to create a stable base for pressing.

About Building the Bench Press

Most people miss weight on the bench press before they even unrack the bar. It is rarely about not trying hard enough; it is usually about your setup. If you aren't creating a solid arch, bracing your core, or using your legs to transfer power, you are leaking energy. We fix this by auditing your breathing, bar path, and eccentric control to ensure every rep is as efficient as possible.

Technical Breakdown

Bench press performance relies on stability. In my coaching, I look at the details that get ignored in commercial gyms. We drill:

  • The Arch & Bracing: Building a stable base is non-negotiable. If you are loose on the bench, you lose power.
  • Bar Path: We analyze your lift frame-by-frame to see where you get stuck. Is it off the chest? Is it the lockout? Your bar path tells us exactly what to fix.
  • Eccentric Control: This is the boring part that actually works. Controlling the descent builds the tension required to explode through the press.

Why Technique Matters

Whether you are a beginner or a national-level lifter, technique is the ultimate limiter. My athletes, ranging from dental surgeons to competitive powerlifters, all start here. We don't just chase numbers; we chase efficient movement. When you understand how to use your legs to drive the weight and keep your upper back tight, the weight feels lighter.

How We Work

Whether you are in the Mumbai area for in-person sessions at my Palghar facility or looking for online coaching anywhere in India, the process is the same. We take your current lifts, identify the biomechanical leaks, and build a program to fix them. You get access to weekly video reviews where I break down your Squat, Bench, and Deadlift.

We don't sugarcoat the process. Sometimes you will have bad days, and sometimes you will miss lifts. That is part of the sport. The goal is to keep you injury-free and progressing consistently. If you are ready to stop guessing and start training with a purpose, let's get to work.
