Powerlifting Coaching in Action: The Grind
Real technique, real numbers, and the grind it takes to build a total. See how we break down the lifts to help athletes hit their PRs on the platform.
An in-person coaching session where I'm correcting an athlete's deadlift form. Hands-on feedback is invaluable for making immediate technical improvements and ensuring long-term progress.
A recap of a "First Nats" meet. My role as a handler is to manage warmups, select attempts, and keep the athlete focused. The "Push Kar" shirt says it all.
A mock meet day in training. We simulate competition conditions to prepare athletes for the pressure of the platform, testing openers and building confidence before the real event.

Demonstrating proper bench press setup during a workshop. I believe in educating athletes, so they understand the mechanics of each lift and can become smarter lifters themselves.

Teaching the principles of programming on a whiteboard. We cover concepts like volume, intensity, and frequency to give lifters a deeper understanding of their training structure.
A poster for one of my powerlifting workshops. These events are open to all levels, from beginners to advanced, and are a great way to learn the science and technique behind the sport.
Watching my athlete from the sidelines during a competition. As a handler, I'm analyzing every lift, managing the clock, and planning the next attempt to put my lifter in the best position to win.
This reel shows the incredible progress an athlete can make with the right coaching. We added 150kg to his SBD total in just 25 weeks through a combination of smart programming, nutrition, and hard work.
About Coaching in Action: The Grind
A spreadsheet alone won't get you stronger. When we work together, I am watching your SBD videos frame-by-frame to spot energy leaks and technical errors. We will tweak your bracing, foot pressure, and bar path until the movement becomes automatic. If you are stuck at a plateau or dealing with a nagging injury, we do not just train harder; we train smarter to keep you lifting safely.
How We Refine Your Technique
Powerlifting is a game of millimeters. Whether you are prepping for a local meet in Mumbai or trying to qualify for nationals, the process starts with an audit of your current form. We look at the details that matter: how you unrack the bar, your breathing mechanics, and your eccentric control.
The Process
- Video Analysis: You send your training footage, and I break it down. We look for technical flaws that are holding your numbers back, whether it is failing to reach squat depth or losing tension in the deadlift.
- Corrective Strategy: I assign specific accessory work and drills—like tempo squats or pause work—to force your body into better positions. This is about building structural integrity, not just moving weight.
- Meet Day Strategy: Training is one thing, but execution on the platform is another. I help with attempt selection, managing your openers, and navigating the competition pressure so you maximize your total.
Beyond the Numbers
I work with a variety of lifters, from juniors dealing with back pain to masters athletes pushing for podium finishes. The grind (the hard work) is the same for everyone. We do not skip the boring stuff because that is where the gains are built. If you are in the Mumbai area, we can schedule in-person technique correction sessions at my facility in Palghar to get hands-on with cues and spotting. If you are training from anywhere else in India, we use the same principle of honest, data-backed programming to get you moving better and stronger.
