We design retreats where the walls disappear and nature takes center stage, turning every stay into a quiet conversation with the outdoors.

The infinity pool at Fireflies Resort overlooks the serene Kabini river and surrounding paddy fields. The pool's edge is designed to disappear, creating the illusion of the water extending directly into the natural landscape.

The reception hut at Fireflies Resort features a traditional thatched roof and bamboo supports, nestled among lush greenery. This structure serves as a welcoming entry point, immediately setting a tone of rustic, nature-focused hospitality.

About Hospitality & Nature Retreats

When we design for hospitality, we treat the landscape as the primary architect. Instead of imposing massive concrete blocks, we use light, porous materials and strategic openings—like those seen at our Fireflies Resort in Kabini—to ensure you are never truly separated from the outdoors. We focus on framing specific views, such as an ancient banyan tree or a rolling hillside, ensuring the architecture serves the landscape rather than distracting from it.

Nature-connected design is not just an aesthetic choice. It is a fundamental shift in how we interact with space. When we approach a hospitality project, we begin by reading the site. We map the sun path, identify existing foliage, and study the wind direction. This allows us to place structures where they naturally belong, rather than clearing land to make room for them.

We prioritize materials that age gracefully. We use local stone, bamboo, and thatched roofing because these elements allow a building to settle into its environment rather than standing apart from it. In our Fireflies Resort project, we specifically oriented the tents to frame the ancient banyan trees, ensuring that the architecture serves the view. For our clients, this means creating 'slow living' spaces. We integrate features like infinity pools that merge with the horizon and open-plan reception areas that encourage interaction with the surroundings. Whether it is a glamping site or a boutique nature resort, our goal is to create environments where guests feel a sense of calm the moment they arrive.

We are Treelight Design. We see architecture as a quiet poem, always looking for ways to let nature breathe. We do not believe in shouting; we build spaces that let the environment speak for itself.
