I love doing private parties and catering. This is a glimpse of a beautiful table spread I created for a client. I can handle everything from the service to the decor, so you can just sit back and enjoy the food with your guests.
Here I am in the thick of it at a Sadhya event. It's always a whirlwind of activity, but I love the energy of serving a traditional feast. It’s moments like these that make all the hard work worthwhile.
For catering events, I often serve tasting portions of my classic dishes, like this Kanji Payar. These small bowls allow guests to sample a variety of flavors without getting too full, making for a great start to a multi-course meal.
This was the menu from my special "Christmas with Tresa" event. I love creating custom menus for special occasions, featuring a mix of Syrian Christian classics and festive favorites passed down in my family.
About Catering for Your Special Occasions
When I cater your event, I do not just drop off food trays. I bring the same handmade spice blends and house-fermented batters I use at Coracle to your location. Whether it is an intimate gathering of three or a traditional Sadhya feast for two hundred, I manage the menu planning and service flow directly, ensuring you can actually be a guest at your own party.
Cooking with Heritage
I believe food is the most meaningful inheritance we have. When I step into your kitchen or set up for your event, I am not just cooking recipes. I am sharing the Syrian Christian traditions I grew up with. My approach to catering is practical and grounded in the way my Amma taught me: fresh ingredients, patient preparation, and absolutely no shortcuts. If a dish requires a slow roast, that is what it gets.
How I Work
- Custom Menus: We talk beforehand. Whether you want a light spread of cutlets and appams for a casual evening or a full-blown Kerala Sadhya, we build the menu to fit your guest list and venue.
- Quality Control: I personally source whole spices from Wayanad and grind my blends. I also baby-sit my appam batter to ensure it ferments just right. This is the difference between standard catering and a meal made with care.
- Flexible Scaling: I cater for private parties ranging from 3 guests to larger crowds of 200. I can handle the decor, the cutlery, and the service, or simply provide the food if that is all you need.
Real Flavors
My menu revolves around authentic Malayali staples. Expect Beef Ullarthu with fried coconut, tender mutton roasts, and Alleppey fish curry that tastes like home. If you want to add a touch of my festive side, I also offer Continental comfort foods like shepherd's pie or bread pudding to round out the spread.
