About Shotokan Karate Training
What Karate Means Here
Karate isn’t a weekend thing for us - it’s a full-on journey. Most folks look at the black belt and think that’s all there is, but honestly, it’s years of sweat, discipline, and falling down before you stand tall. That’s the kind of training I give - not shortcuts, but real growth.
Training That Builds More Than Fighters
We believe being tough isn’t just about trophies. It’s about facing life with guts and grit. Students here learn to handle challenges, not just in the dojo but everywhere. Fear? We leave it outside. You’ll find mental strength becomes your real trophy.
How We Train
- Beginners and kids start with basics - discipline, respect, and the first steps of Shotokan belt progression.
- The path to black belt is no joke. We guide you through every stage, with focus on each belt grade till Shodan and Nidan.
- Into competition? We coach hard - Kumite sparring drills to boost your timing, and traditional karate kata practice for sharp technique and power.
Our Philosophy
- We stick to old-school Shotokan principles, teaching proper forms, stances, and even tameshiwari (board breaking) for power.
- Karate is for everyone. Girls train right alongside boys - this is the place to get strong and confident.
Respect Is Everything
Train here, and you’re part of our karate family. Led by me and our team, respect runs deep - from students to parents. We celebrate every milestone together.

Temple of Martial Arts
My Story
They call me Renshi A.P. Nagendra Babu. Started Temple of Martial Arts in 1990. Every day, I see age is just a number – in the dojo, with students, old and young. This place isn’t just about techniques. We train for life, so when things get tough, you stand up. Watching kids grow into black belts, seeing parents swell with pride – that’s the real reward. When a girl says ‘No princess, I want to be a black belt’ – that’s our spirit.
My Work
Karate, Self Defense & Power Yoga - We train all ages in karate, kids self defense classes, and power yoga for fighters.
Philosophy & Respect - Karate here is lifelong. We build fighters, not just champions. Respect is where it begins and ends.
Structured Black Belt Journey - From white belt to black belt ceremony, every step is earned, celebrated with family and pride.
Empowerment, Especially for Girls - We want every girl to feel strong – ‘Touch me, first lesson is free’. Confidence and strength for all.
