About this collection
Competition training is fundamentally different from standard grading preparation. Here, we focus on reading an opponent's rhythm and applying 'Kime' (focus) under pressure, which is central to our sparring drills. We don't just teach the moves; we train you to react strategically in a match environment. If you are ready to test your reflexes and commit to the intensity of WKF-style matches, let's discuss your current level.
Preparing for the Ring
Kumite is where the theory of Karate meets reality. While Kata forms build your foundation, Kumite (sparring) tests your ability to apply those techniques in dynamic, unpredictable scenarios. Our training at Temple of Martial Arts is grounded in WKF (World Karate Federation) standards, ensuring every movement has a purpose.
Our Approach to Sparring
Training here is not just about throwing punches; it is about strategy and control. We break down the match into core components:
- Distance Management: Learning when to engage and when to retreat.
- Timing: Anticipating an opponent’s attack to land a decisive counter-strike.
- Controlled Power: Delivering strikes with intensity without compromising discipline or safety.
Whether you are training for events like the Indo-Srilanka Cup or looking to refine your self-defense reflexes, we emphasize safety and mutual respect. We train for the fight, but we always prioritize the fighter’s discipline.
Join the Team
We accept students who demonstrate the dedication to push past their physical limits. If you have been practicing the basics at our Bannerghatta Road or Kumaraswamy Layout dojos, speak to us about the next level of your training. We look for consistency above raw talent, and we expect every student to treat their training partner with the respect demanded in a traditional dojo.
Temple of Martial Arts
I am Renshi A.P. Nagendra Babu. I started Temple of Martial Arts to build fighters who do not rely on fear. When you step into my dojo, expect to work hard, because competition is earned, not given.
