At Thirkan, music and dance are a way of life. From the soulful notes of Hindustani vocals to the rhythmic pulse of live tabla, we help students of all ages find their rhythm in a supportive, traditional environment.
This is where the musical journey begins for our youngest students. In our Hindustani vocal classes, we sit together with the harmonium and practice the fundamental notes of sargam, building a strong and joyful foundation in a small, supportive group.
Here is a glimpse into our tabla theory sessions. We teach students not just how to play, but also to understand the language of rhythm, breaking down different compositions like the eight-beat Kerwa taal and its bols.
