Ayurvedic Neem & Karela Foot Detox
Step into a traditional Ayurvedic detox using fresh neem and karela. This unique therapy helps pull toxins from your system, leaving you feeling light and deeply grounded.
Listen to my students share how they feel during the Neem Karela foot therapy. This practice is a key part of my detox workshops, designed to cleanse the body and provide a sense of relief and energy. Their happy faces say it all.
My detox workshops are a multi-step process. This video shows students experiencing the Neem Karela foot soak, a powerful method for detoxification, after completing other cleansing kriyas like Jal Neti and Sutra Neti.
In Ayurveda, foot massage is considered very important for overall health, especially in winter. I created this guide to share the benefits, from improving sleep and reducing stress to relieving joint pain. It's a simple practice that supports your entire system.
About Detox Foot Therapy
You’ll be standing in a bucket filled with fresh, crushed neem leaves and bitter gourd (karela) for about 20 minutes. It feels intense for some, but that’s the point—this specific combination is a traditional Ayurvedic method believed to draw out heat and impurities from your system. Most of my students report feeling an immediate sense of lightness in their legs, which makes it a perfect finisher after we complete our other cleansing kriyas.
Why We Use Neem and Karela
In my detox workshops, we don't just focus on the upper body. While most people think yoga is only about asanas, these cleansing techniques help reset your entire system. The Neem and Karela foot soak acts as a natural purifier. Neem has cooling, antibacterial properties, and Karela helps in detoxification. When you stand in this mix and keep moving your feet, you are actively assisting your body's natural release of toxins.
What Happens in the Workshop
This therapy is part of my integrated detox half-day session. We perform this in a community hall setting where everyone practices together. You won't be standing still; I encourage a gentle 'stomping' motion to ensure the juices from the leaves and vegetables make contact with the pressure points on your soles.
Before we get to this stage, we usually complete:
- Jal Neti: Clearing sinus passages.
- Rubber Neti: Further internal cleansing.
- Breathwork: Kapalbhati and Bhramari to settle the mind.
Who Should Join?
If you feel heavy, lethargic, or just want to cleanse your body after a long period of stress, this workshop is for you. It is suitable for everyone, regardless of your fitness level or age. You will need to bring your own face towel, and I provide the buckets, fresh neem, and karela mix. Come with an open mind and be ready to feel refreshed.
