Nurturing young minds through play and supporting senior mobility with gentle, mindful movement.

This was a fun-filled kids yoga session celebrating Yoga Day. We practiced everything from Suryanamaskar and super brain exercises to fun movements and breathwork, making yoga feel like play.

Suryanamaskar, or Sun Salutation, is a wonderful sequence for all ages. Practicing it with my young yoga buddy by the river reminds me that we can all rise and shine our light, just like the sun.

Feeling the yoga vibes with my cute buddy as we practice Bhujangasana, or Cobra Pose. Making yoga fun for kids helps them build a healthy relationship with their bodies from a young age.

Here we are practicing Brahmari Pranayama, the humming bee breath. This calming breathing exercise is excellent for kids and adults alike, helping to improve concentration, build confidence, and soothe the mind.

About Yoga for Kids & Seniors

For children, I replace rigid poses with animal movements and storytelling to build focus, while my senior sessions prioritize Sukshma Vyayam—gentle joint-opening exercises—that make daily mobility easier and pain-free.

My Approach to All Ages

Yoga is not about touching your toes; it is about what you discover on the way down. I adapt my teaching to the student, ensuring that whether you are five or seventy-five, the mat is a safe, welcoming space.

Yoga for Kids: Learning through Play

Children have endless energy, so I channel that into play-way teaching methods. Instead of complex instructions, we use:

  • Storytelling and Animal Poses: We practice movements that feel like play, helping kids stay engaged.
  • Super Brain Yoga: Simple exercises designed to enhance concentration and memory, perfect for countering screen-time slouching.
  • Mindfulness Games: We integrate breathwork, like the humming bee breath (Brahmari Pranayama), to help children build confidence and manage hyperactivity.

Yoga for Seniors: Restoring Mobility

For my senior students, the goal is independence and comfort. My sessions focus on:

  • Sukshma Vyayam: These subtle, gentle exercises target joint health, reducing stiffness and improving flexibility without strain.
  • Chair Yoga: For those who find floor work challenging, I offer chair-based modifications that ensure safety while building strength and stability.
  • Breathwork: Controlled breathing techniques to regulate the nervous system and lower blood pressure.

My classes are available for home visits across Bengaluru, allowing you to practice in the comfort of your own space. Whether it is improving your child's posture or helping a senior relative stay active, we work at a pace that honors your body's needs.

I believe yoga should adapt to you, not the other way around. Whether I am guiding a child to find focus through play or helping a senior regain comfort in their joints, I create a space where everyone feels supported.
