Kids Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Classes
We teach BJJ as a path to building confidence and discipline. Our program helps children master body control and problem-solving through structured, safe ground-fighting drills.
Our kids' jiu-jitsu classes are in full swing. Here, young students watch attentively as our instructor demonstrates a ground position, learning the importance of control and technique from an early age.
In our kids' BJJ program, we teach practical techniques like controlling an opponent from the mount. It's a safe and structured way for children to learn body awareness and self-defense.
This image shows one of our young students practicing a guard position. We teach them how to use their legs to defend and control, a core concept in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
Fun and focus go hand in hand. Our instructor with two of our young warriors after a great class. We aim to make learning martial arts an enjoyable and empowering experience.
Repetition is key to learning. Here, a student practices maintaining the mount position, building muscle memory for one of the most dominant positions in jiu-jitsu.
Another angle of our students drilling guard techniques. Our kids' classes cover both Gi and No-Gi, giving them a well-rounded understanding of grappling.
The smiles say it all. We are proud to be a place where kids can build confidence, make friends, and learn valuable life skills through the art of jiu-jitsu.
About this collection
Our classes prioritize technical repetition and safety above all else. You will see your child learn to manage their weight, control their breathing, and stay calm under pressure. Whether it is Gi or No-Gi, they train in a strictly supervised environment where the goal is mastering body mechanics, not just winning matches.
At The Dojo, we view BJJ as 'chess with the body'. For kids, this means learning how to solve problems on the mat while developing physical coordination that carries over to their daily lives. We don't just throw kids into a sparring match. We start with fundamentals—how to fall safely, how to maintain a dominant position, and how to stay calm when someone is pushing against them.
Our instructors in HSR Layout are experienced competitors, but they approach teaching children with patience. We emphasize the 'why' behind every move. When a child learns how to execute a proper guard pass or a sweep, they are learning leverage and physics, not brute force. This build-up of technical skill fosters real resilience.
We train in both Gi (uniform) and No-Gi formats to ensure our students have a complete understanding of grappling. The Gi teaches patience and technical precision through grips, while No-Gi sharpens speed and transitions. Both are essential. Parents often ask about the intensity of our classes. We maintain a professional, respectful atmosphere. Discipline is part of the training. When a student enters the mat, they learn to respect their partners and their instructors. It is a community where kids hold each other accountable, push each other to improve, and celebrate each other's progress—whether that is a first stripe or a successful technique.
The Dojo
We’re The Dojo, and for us, this isn't just about an after-school activity. We train kids to be warriors for life, teaching them to handle themselves on the mat and off. It’s the same focus and respect our adult competitors show, just scaled for our younger students.
