About Beginner & Taster Sessions
During our 2.5-hour session, you will get behind an electric wheel and try hand-building techniques to create 2 to 3 raw forms. We handle the drying, glazing, and firing process for your favorite piece, which will be ready for you to collect from our studio in about three weeks.
Why start with a taster session?
If you have been curious about pottery but do not want to commit to a long course just yet, this is your entry point. Our taster sessions are designed to be low-pressure and high-fun. We provide all the tools, clay, and expert guidance you need to create something you can actually take home.
What happens in the studio?
We believe pottery is a form of therapy. When you walk into our studios in Nehru Place or Gurgaon, you leave your daily routine at the door. You will spend time on the electric wheel, learning to center clay and pull up walls to form a cylinder or a bowl. We also introduce basic hand-building techniques like pinching and coiling, which allow you to shape clay without a wheel.
Practical details to keep in mind
- Timeline: Your piece goes through a long journey after you leave. We let it dry, bisque fire it, glaze it, and fire it again. This is why it takes roughly three weeks before your masterpiece is food-safe and ready for your kitchen shelf.
- Flexibility: Whether you are looking for a solo activity, a creative date idea, or a fun afternoon with friends, our sessions cater to small groups so you get plenty of individual attention.
- What to bring: Just bring yourself and a bit of curiosity. We provide aprons and tools, but we recommend wearing comfortable clothes that you do not mind getting a little clay on.
