About The Potter's Process
After you shape your bowl or mug, the real work begins behind the scenes. We handle the drying, bisque firing, glazing, and final firing for you, which is why your masterpiece takes about three weeks to be ready for pickup. It gives the clay the time it needs to set so it becomes food-safe and durable for your home.
From Clay to Creation
Pottery is often romanticized, but the process is a grounding mix of technical skill and patience. At our Delhi and Gurgaon studios, we start with wedging, where you knead the clay to remove air bubbles. This is crucial because any trapped air can make your piece explode in the kiln.
Once the clay is prepped, you move to the wheel. Centering the clay is the most challenging step for beginners, but once you find that sweet spot, the vessel begins to take form. Whether you are using stoneware or earthenware, the magic happens in how you guide the walls of your pot.
After the shaping comes the waiting. We let your pieces dry naturally before the bisque firing. Then comes the glazing, followed by the final glaze firing at high temperatures. This three-week journey ensures your piece is not just a souvenir, but a durable ceramic item you can actually use in your kitchen.
