About Clay Kalai: The Ceramic Lamp Workshop

The best part about this workshop is not just the making, it is the anticipation of receiving your finished piece. After you shape and carve your lamp in our session, we take it back to the studio for the professional drying, glazing, and double-firing process. We handle all the technical heavy lifting, including wiring the electrical hardware, so you receive a fully functional, glowing piece of art at your doorstep.

Our Clay Kalai sessions are designed for anyone who wants to slow down and create something with their hands. We guide you through the process, starting with a block of raw clay and ending with a lamp that is uniquely yours.

What to Expect

This is a hands-on ceramic lamp workshop where you learn to work with clay from the ground up. We teach you basic handbuilding techniques like pinching and coiling to construct your lamp base. You do not need to be an artist to join. We provide all the necessary tools and clay. The focus is on the mindful, meditative process of shaping earth into something functional.

The Finishing Process

Pottery is a slow craft. Since pieces need to be kiln-fired and glazed to become durable, you will not take the lamp home on the same day. We transport all creations to our base studio. Our team handles the professional trimming, drying, and double-firing. We also handle the wiring and electrical assembly, ensuring your lamp is safe and ready to light up your space. Your finished, glazed lamp will be professionally packed and couriered to your home, so you can enjoy your work without worrying about the logistics.

Why Join Us

We believe in creating a comfortable space to learn. Whether you are a beginner or someone who has worked with clay before, these workshops offer a chance to disconnect from digital noise and reconnect with a tactile, grounding activity. We host these sessions in cozy, partner venues across various cities, making art accessible right in your neighborhood.
