Our Artisan Family and Craft Community
At the heart of Tharangini are not just blocks and dyes, but the brilliant hands that guide them. Craft is a shared language here, and we invite you to experience the warmth of our studio and the people who keep this heritage alive.

About Our Artisan Family & Community
Beyond the printing tables, we actively partner with the Asha Foundation for Autism. We work closely with specially-abled artisans from their community centers, providing vocational training that keeps traditional block printing alive. When you visit, you are not just observing a craft, you are witnessing a multi-generational ecosystem where skills are passed down, celebrated, and shared with anyone willing to learn.
Our studio in Sadashivnagar is a space where the rhythm of work is dictated by the seasons and the people who inhabit it. We are a women-led team, and our daily operations rely on a community that spans generations—some of our artisans have been with us for decades, and today, they work alongside their own children. This continuity is how we keep the traditional techniques of Bangalore's block printing alive in an urban, fast-paced environment.
We don't believe in keeping this craft behind closed doors. Whether it is our Ayudha Pooja ceremony, where we honor the tools that sustain us, or our collaborative sessions with visiting artists and designers, our doors are open to those who respect the process. Our partnerships, including those with international organizations like the Bábbarra Women's Centre, allow for a genuine cross-cultural exchange of skills and stories. When you join a workshop, you are invited into this circle. You will learn directly from the master artisans who have spent their lives perfecting these motifs, and you will understand why we treat every piece of fabric as a keepsake rather than a product. We encourage you to come in, share a filter coffee, and see how heritage is a living, breathing thing.
