Our Collaborative Design Process
At team3, architecture is a dialogue. We bring together diverse perspectives to ensure every project is grounded in reality, not just theory.
Collaboration is the foundation of our work. This video shows a typical team discussion in our studio, where ideas are presented, questioned, and developed together to shape the best possible solution.
In this video, our architect Thota Sameeksha busts the myth that architecture is a "cool" profession. She pulls back the curtain on the hard work and dedication required to deliver thoughtful and well-crafted designs.
A candid moment of collaboration in our studio. We believe that informal discussions and peer reviews are just as important as formal meetings in refining our design ideas.
Two of our team members reviewing architectural drawings together. This hands-on, collaborative approach ensures that every detail is carefully considered and integrated into the overall design.
Our team members Riya Choudhury and Bhumika Arora tracing the evolution of an idea. This image captures the iterative nature of our design process, from initial concept to detailed drawings.
A desk view showing architectural plans and a sketchbook. We seamlessly move between digital tools and hand-drawing to explore and communicate our design intent.
A close-up of an architect sketching and refining a floor plan. This attention to detail and hands-on approach is central to our work culture at team3.
This short clip shows two of our architects collaborating over a laptop. This constant exchange of ideas is what drives innovation and ensures the quality of our projects.
We still trust the power of the pencil. This video shows pages from one of our architect's sketchbooks, where ideas for facades, materials, and construction details are worked out by hand.
Good design is a process of refinement. This image shows the proposed site for a new pathway, the starting point for a series of design studies and iterations.
About Our Collaborative Design Process
Architecture is often painted as a clean, solitary pursuit, but our reality in the studio is quite different. We work through a cycle of sketching, intense peer reviews, and technical debate before a single line is finalized in software. When you hire us, you are not getting a solo architect, but a team that treats your site like a complex puzzle we are collectively solving.
The Studio Culture
We operate as a mashup of different mindsets. Some of us geek out over FAR (Floor Area Ratio) and technical zoning, while others are happiest with a napkin sketch. This friction is intentional. We believe that good design survives the critique of the team. If an idea cannot withstand our internal debates, it rarely makes it to the client. This collaborative architecture ensures that we pressure-test every concept against real-world constraints before it leaves our office.
The Pencil and the Pixel
We balance modern technology with the old-school discipline of hand-drawing. While we use digital simulations for wind direction, solar studies, and complex structural modeling, we still trust the pencil. Sketching allows us to explore massing, fenestrations, and material palettes with speed and intuition. We often work on multiple iterations of a single pathway or facade design, comparing different shading strategies or material applications side-by-side. This iterative process prevents us from settling on the first, easiest solution.
From Idea to Execution
Our design process is structured but flexible. It typically begins with a deep dive into the site’s narrative—topography, climate, and local culture. We then move into a phase of intense design development, where we hold regular coordination meetings. This is where we bridge the gap between architectural vision and buildability. Whether we are designing a private home or an urban master plan, our goal is to maintain that initial clarity of thought from the very first sketch through to the final construction drawings.
By keeping our workflow open, we ensure that every decision—from the choice of local materials to the placement of green pockets—is purposeful. We want our clients to understand not just what we are building, but why.
Team3
We are team3, a collective that thrives on debate and shared thinking. We do not believe in solo geniuses; we believe in the messy, exciting process of sketching, questioning, and refining until the design just clicks.
