My Approach to Classical Hatha Yoga
I do not teach yoga as an exercise regimen. It is an inner technology designed to help you bring stillness, focus, and stability into your daily life.
Most people don't dream of becoming a yoga teacher from childhood. We become teachers because the practice has worked on us in a profound way. When you look for an instructor, look for someone who inspires you to stay with your practice and supports your journey toward wellbeing.
You cannot force anyone to practice yoga, but you can inspire them. When people around you see you becoming healthier, more balanced, and stable, they will naturally experience the benefits of being in your presence. Your consistent practice is the most powerful invitation.
About My Philosophy as a Teacher
You cannot force anyone to practice, but you can inspire them by your own consistency. In my classes, I do not prioritize perfect postures over the internal experience; I focus on providing a structured environment where you can develop a lifelong practice. Whether you are learning Angamardana or Yoga Namaskar, my goal is to guide you with clear, hands-on corrections so you can build a stable foundation for your own sadhana.
Yoga is not something you 'do' for an hour on a mat and then abandon. It is a way of living. When I teach, I focus on the basics of classical Hatha Yoga because I have seen how these time-tested practices can change a person from the inside out. My studio in Doddakallasandra is kept simple and free of distractions, as I believe the environment plays a huge role in your ability to turn inward.
Why the Isha Tradition Matters
My training is firmly rooted in the Isha lineage. This means the practices are taught with a high level of precision. We do not rush through movements. Whether it is Surya Kriya, Angamardana, or Yoga Namaskar, I spend time ensuring you understand the mechanics so you can eventually perform these routines independently at home. You do not need to be flexible to start. Flexibility and strength are merely byproducts of a consistent practice, not the entry requirement.
Building Your Own Sadhana
My role as your teacher is to provide the support and discipline you might struggle to maintain on your own. I keep my group sessions small because I believe in the necessity of hands-on corrections. If your practice stalls or you feel disconnected, I encourage you to reach out. We are not here to chase fitness trends. We are here to establish a practice that stays with you, supports your health, and helps you handle the pressures of life with a bit more balance and focus.
