I treat every cake as a blank canvas, using palette knives, edible paints, and sugar craft to turn your ideas into edible art. From hand-painted impressionist designs to sharp, trendy vintage piping, here are some of the modern styles I love creating.

This is one of my proudest creations, a two-tiered cake inspired by Claude Monet's "Water Lilies." I hand-painted the fondant canvas in an impressionist style and topped it with a large, handcrafted wafer paper water lily. It was an honor to create this for a prominent art collector's birthday.

The cartoon cake trend is so much fun. This one, with its bold black outlines, looks like it jumped right out of a comic book. It's a labor-intensive design, but the cool, 2D effect is worth it.

A velvet-finish heart cake, a trend I'm loving right now. This one was inspired by a photo a client sent and is created using a special cocoa butter spray technique for that soft, velvety texture.

About Artistic & Modern Styles

The secret to that perfect, sharp finish you see in these photos is in the structure. For my fondant and sculpted cakes, I start with a layer of dark chocolate ganache before the covering, which gives those crisp, razor-sharp edges and prevents the fondant from bulging. If you are looking for a specific theme or a hand-painted design, I always start with a concept sketch so we are on the same page before I even turn on the oven.
