Whimsical Cakes for Kids
From hand-molded storybook characters to gravity-defying 3D creations, I transform your child's favourite themes into delicious, edible art.
A Superman cake for an 8th birthday, featuring a city skyline and his iconic logo. The most exciting part was creating the edible Kryptonite crystals from scratch using a Japanese candy technique called Kohakutou.
It's a joy to be a part of a child's birthday traditions. This is a flamingo and unicorn theme cake for a little girl's 5th birthday, featuring a hand-molded fondant flamingo, a rainbow, and a cute little unicorn.
I brought the beloved "Tale of Peter Rabbit" to life with this three-tiered birthday cake. Every character, from Peter Rabbit to Jemima Puddle-Duck, was hand-molded from sugar paste, and the scene is complete with hand-painted details and an Oreo cookie crumb vegetable patch.
An explosion of fun with this combined Olympics and candy-themed cake. It's loaded with treats I made in-house, including meringue lollipops, cone pops, and mini glazed donuts, all in a vibrant pastel color palette.
I love learning about what kids are into, and this time it was "Jellycats." This 13th birthday cake features a variety of the food-themed stuffed toys, some of which are mini bento cakes themselves, like the little strawberry cake and ice cream cone.
A two-tiered candy dream cake for a 4th birthday. This design is overflowing with handmade fondant lollipops, ice cream cones, donuts, and macarons, all in a sweet pastel rainbow palette.
The Lion King is a timeless favorite. This two-tiered cake features the iconic Pride Rock scene, with hand-molded sugar figurines of Mufasa, Simba, Timon, and Pumbaa, set against an airbrushed sunset.
About this collection
When I build a 3D or themed cake, I don't just stack sponge. I use structural elements like Rice Krispie treats and food-grade dowels to keep gravity-defying designs stable, ensuring that even complex characters or towers stay perfectly upright from the moment I set them up until you light the candles.
Edible Art for Little Dreamers
I view every birthday cake as a blank canvas. My background in fashion school taught me to look at form and colour, and now I apply those principles to sugar. Whether your child is obsessed with the latest cartoon characters, a classic storybook like Peter Rabbit, or wants a cake shaped like their favourite toy, I start with a concept sketch to ensure we're on the same page before I start baking.
The Process Behind the Magic
Making a 'whimsical' cake is all about the details that make a child smile. I hand-mold every figurine—from unicorns and flamingos to miniature puppies—using high-quality sugar paste. For larger structures, like castle towers or hot air balloons, I use food-safe armatures and Rice Krispie inserts. This allows me to create height and drama while keeping the cake light and structurally sound.
Quality You Can Taste
Artistry doesn't mean sacrificing flavour. While the fondant and sugar art provide the 'wow' factor, the sponge inside is made with the same care as my signature cakes. I use Belgian chocolate ganache and house-made fruit compotes for the fillings. We work out of my studio in Noida and take special care with the packaging for larger or multi-tiered designs, so whether your party is in Delhi NCR, Jaipur, or beyond, the cake arrives exactly as you imagined it.
Tips for Ordering
- Share Your Theme: I love reference photos or mood boards. If you have an invitation design or a specific colour palette, share it with me so I can colour-match the frosting and decorations.
- Plan Ahead: Sculpted 3D cakes are labour-intensive. For detailed figurine work, giving me at least 10 days notice helps me ensure I can give every character the attention it deserves.
- Customise the Base: You can mix and match flavours for tiered cakes. I’m happy to walk you through which sponge holds up best for your specific design.
Sugar Blossoms
I’m Kajal. I swapped art history books for fondant and ganache, and I’ve never looked back. I love playing 'cake fairy godmother' for your kids, turning their wildest storybook characters into edible art that’s as fun to eat as it is to look at.
