Our VERTO Air Purification Tower is a product born from necessity. This video shows the final design in its intended environment, a public park. The twisting, parametric form is the result of extensive computational fluid dynamics analysis to maximize air intake and purification efficiency, demonstrating our performance-driven approach.

In this interview, I discuss the core principles that guide Studio Symbiosis. I explain our holistic approach, integrating architecture, technology, and environment to create performance-driven solutions like the VERTO tower. This is a look into the 'why' behind our work and our vision for using technology like BIM to push the boundaries of design.

The intricate, triangulated facade is not merely aesthetic; it is a key component of the aerodynamic system, engineered to channel air effectively. This is where computational design meets physical form.

We are honored that our VERTO tower received the prestigious Red Dot Design Award in 2023. This recognition validates our mission to create products that are not only innovative and functional but also meet the highest international standards of design excellence.

Our design process is rooted in the principles of a circular economy. This diagram for our MAXXI building proposal illustrates how we plan for the entire lifecycle of materials, from re-using demolished elements to employing low-emission, sustainable materials like CLT and LVL timber. This philosophy is central to all our projects, including our product designs.

A critical design constraint for VERTO was its integration with local ecosystems. This image of parrots interacting with the tower demonstrates our success in creating a functional product that coexists harmoniously with urban wildlife, a core tenet of our 'Symbiosis' philosophy.

Our design principles extend across all scales. These bespoke, angular seating elements in the Parinee Lobby were designed as sculptural objects that define the space. The form and materiality reflect the same geometric language and attention to detail found in our larger architectural and product work.

As part of our commitment to the global design community, I frequently participate as a jury member for prestigious events like the World Architecture Festival. Engaging with emerging ideas and talent is essential to our own process of innovation and thought leadership.

This is our design for the Laxcon Steel Plant Office in Ahmedabad. The linear lighting integrated into the ribbed concrete facade is inspired by the streaks of light from traffic on the adjacent highway, creating a building that is in constant dialogue with its surroundings.8
We design interiors as dynamic volumes. At the Laxcon office, we orchestrated a series of triple-height spaces, open-to-sky courtyards, and connecting bridges to foster a sense of openness and visual connection for the workforce, while also responding to the arid climate.

This facade demonstrates our core belief in the harmony of materials. The warmth and texture of exposed brick provide thermal mass and a sense of permanence, while the sleek glass curtain wall invites natural light, creating an office environment that is both stable and inspiring.8
This is a rendering of an industrial unit designed for green certification. We've used vertical louvers to shield the west-facing facade from harsh sun, reducing cooling costs, while the combination of insulated walls and optimized windows ensures energy efficiency year-round.
For this boutique commercial building, we designed a distinctive facade using terracotta fins. The sweeping curve is not just an aesthetic choice; it strategically manages privacy and sunlight for the cafe and offices within, proving that even smaller buildings can make a bold statement.

We designed the Surat Diamond Bourse to be more than just a building; it is an economic driver and a global benchmark for sustainable, community-centric design. As the world's largest office building, its architecture facilitates natural ventilation and cooling for over 30% of its area, demonstrating how large-scale projects can be environmentally responsible.8
For the Infosys Campus in Nagpur, we designed a dynamic facade with colourful fins that are not merely aesthetic. Each fin is precisely angled to provide solar shading, reducing heat gain and glare, which significantly lowers the building's reliance on air conditioning and creates comfortable, naturally lit workspaces.
At Vidyashilp Academy, we used architecture to shape an environment for well-being. The play of light and shadow, created by modern interpretations of traditional 'jaali' screens, transforms simple corridors into inspiring spaces, fostering a sense of calm and curiosity for students.
The Pearl Academy in Jaipur is a testament to our climate-responsive design approach. The central courtyard, inspired by traditional Indian step-wells or 'baolis', acts as a natural thermal regulator, using evaporative cooling from the water body to create a comfortable microclimate in the desert heat.

A minimalist concrete residence designed to merge with the landscape. This project features a green roof that provides natural insulation and allows the structure to become an extension of the rolling hills, demonstrating our approach to sustainable, nature-integrated architecture.8
A conceptual design for an office building in Defence Colony, New Delhi. The facade uses colored glass fins to create a dynamic play of light and shadow, transforming the building into a vibrant urban landmark, especially after dusk.
An intricate physical model for a multi-level residence in New Delhi. We use models as a primary tool to explore spatial relationships, scale, and light, allowing us and our clients to understand the project in three dimensions long before construction begins.

This is Aranya Villas, which translates to "forest villas." We designed this community in Hyderabad to be a seamless story, where the architecture is minimal and the landscape becomes the immersive, central experience. The tree-lined street creates a natural canopy, offering a calm, luxurious setting rooted in nature.8
For the Telangana High Court, we aimed for a design that is monumental yet unassuming. This view across the water shows how the structure commands respect through its clean lines and scale, while the surrounding landscape and water body soften its presence, making it a dignified and approachable civic landmark.
We believe corporate campuses should be vibrant public realms. At this tech campus, we used elevated curving podiums and integrated water features to create distinct zones for tenants and the public, promoting collaboration, relaxation, and a harmonious connection with the surrounding nature.
We call this concept "villas in the sky." We are redefining high-rise apartment living by giving every unit its own front yard, side yard, and backyard. This approach brings the feeling of a private home and garden to a vertical community, integrating nature at every level.

A vibrant scarlet spiral staircase serves as a sculptural connector in a commercial office building, transforming a simple circulation element into a memorable spatial experience. This design choice highlights our belief in integrating art and function.10
The "Solid | Void | Solid" house showcases our approach to residential design in a dense urban setting. The facade plays with opacity and transparency, creating a dynamic relationship between the home's private interiors and the street.
This 3D-printed model of "The Arcades Project" demonstrates our process of reinterpreting familiar forms like arches and pitched roofs. The design for this community center uses these elements to create a porous, light-filled volume that engages with its neighborhood.
