We built this home to breathe. Casa Aurea is our ode to the Goan pace of life, where colonial charm meets a modern, laid-back spirit.

About Goan Susegad: The Casa Aurea Villa

In the dining area, we balanced a distressed eight-seater table with raw, unfinished chairs to recreate the feel of a coastal boho café. Sunlight spills through floor-to-ceiling windows, turning the entire room into a bridge between the indoor comfort and the wild fields outside.

I'm Leanne. My studio, Detailine, is where we design spaces that hold a mirror to your own story. When we took on Casa Aurea, we didn't just want a vacation home; we wanted a sanctuary that felt like a long, slow breath of air.

The central courtyard and pool at Baia Villas is the heart of the project. I designed this U-shaped layout to seamlessly connect the living spaces to this focal point, creating an indoor-outdoor experience that is quintessentially Goan.29
The architecture of Baia Villas is defined by its bold forms and playful use of color. This exterior view showcases the interplay of arches and a terracotta jali screen, elements that nod to Goan heritage while creating a distinctly contemporary facade.

The dining area at the Amaiti Farmhouse features a stunning live-edge wood table. It acts as a natural, sculptural centerpiece, complemented by modern upholstered chairs and minimalist pendant lights that keep the focus on the view outside.

In this passageway, I created a moment of quiet elegance. A distressed wooden mirror is paired with a sleek, fluted sideboard for shoe storage, while twin lamps provide warm, ambient lighting. The mirror reflects the staircase wallpaper, subtly connecting different areas of the home.11
The final styling stage is where a house truly becomes a home. Here, I am carefully placing artwork in a primary bedroom at a Prestige Golfshire villa, ensuring each piece contributes to the room's serene and personal atmosphere.
I often have the privilege of working with clients who have stunning art collections. Here, I'm admiring a beautiful painting that will become a central feature in the dining space, designing the room around its unique character.
Unpacking new furniture is always an exciting moment in the design process. This plush, off-white armchair with a wooden frame is one of the key pieces selected for a luxurious and comfortable living area.
