We are not just a dance school. We are a family that lives and breathes Bharatanatyam, guided by Guru Sreejaya Nair and her team.

Moments after Nrithya Sandhya. Even after the show ends, the energy and joy of dance continues. This is our team, our family, celebrating another successful event.

A glimpse of our talented artist panel that provides the live music for our performances. Their soulful music is the heartbeat of our dance.

The musicians who make our performances unforgettable. Here is our flutist, whose melodies breathe life into our dance stories.

Our complete live orchestra on stage. The synergy between the dancers and musicians is what creates the magic of a live performance.

Our strength, our pillars, the team behind SSCD. Meet our dedicated instructors who guide students with passion and care across all our branches.

As the Founder and Artistic Director of SSCD, my goal is to guide students to understand not just the technique, but the soul of Bharatanatyam.

Who are we? We are a community dedicated to preserving and sharing the art of Bharatanatyam. This is the first slide of our story.

Our vision is to be a global center for classical dance, and our mission is to impart authentic training rooted in traditional values.

About Meet the Guru & Our SSCD Family

When you step into SSCD, you are joining a community, not just a class. Whether you train at our HSR Layout, Harlur Road, Koramangala, or Whitefield branch, you are learning from a team of eight dedicated instructors who carry forward the technique I have nurtured over two decades. We believe dance is better when shared, which is why our group batches feel like a gathering of friends and family.

Our Approach to Bharatanatyam

At Sreejaya's School of Classical Dance, we view dance as a language of expression. My training at Kerala Kalamandalam instilled in me the discipline of the Kalakshetra style, and that is exactly what we teach here. We focus on the precision of the Aramandi, the clarity of Adavus, and the storytelling of Abhinaya. My goal is to help you find your own voice within these traditional frameworks.

Meet the Team

I am supported by a wonderful group of eight instructors. They are the pillars of our school, each bringing their own expertise and patience to our students. You will find that our classes are not rigid or intimidating. Whether you are learning online or at one of our Bangalore centres, our instructors ensure that every student receives personal attention. We take the time to correct your posture, refine your Mudras, and most importantly, help you connect with the Navarasas.

Learning at SSCD

We offer a range of programs to suit your lifestyle. If you want to dive deep, we have our fast-track intensive programs. If you are starting your journey for the first time, our regular batches provide a steady, supportive environment. We also embrace technology to make learning accessible, offering live online classes that maintain the same rigor as our in-person sessions.

Join Our Community

We are proud of our roots in Bangalore and the community we have built over the last 20 years. From our annual events like Nrithya Sandhya to our simple classroom sessions, everything we do is driven by a passion for preserving our culture. Come walk in to any of our branches. Your dance journey is waiting.
